    摘要: An arteriovenous shunt assembly including a shunt having a hollow bore between open first and second ends thereof and a valve slidably disposed through the hollow bore. The valve includes means for retaining the valve in a closed position or in any of various selected open positions that provide corresponding different rates of blood flow through the shunt assembly. In some embodiments, the AV shunt assembly is self-expandable from a collapsed tow-profile configuration employed during transluminal delivery. The valve position in the hollow bore may be adjusted in vivo by inflating a catheter balloon in a blood vessel to bear against an end of the valve. Methods for using the shunt assembly are also disclosed.

The catheter system includes a hub defining a lumen therethrough for passage of the instrument and an elongate tubular member defining a lumen therethrough. The lumen of the tubular member is in communication with the lumen of the hub. The system also includes a slitter member that is coupled to the hub. The slitter member is disposed to slit the tubular member. The slitter further includes a moveable member that is moveably coupled to the hub and that is coupled to the tubular member, the moveable member is operable to advance the elongate tubular member toward the slitter member as the moveable member is moved relative to the hub. The slitter member thereby slits the elongate tubular member.

    摘要: A bifurcated catheter includes a first catheter branch having a first distal portion and a second catheter branch having a second distal portion. The first and second distal portions are linked together for delivery to the bifurcated region.     摘要: A convertible balloon catheter for use as either an over-the-wire catheter or a rapid exchange catheter, comprising a flexible outer shaft, flexible inner shaft, angioplasty balloon, and bifurcate hub. The inner shaft is comprised of a relatively elastic, deformable material and forms an inflation lumen. The inner inflation shaft is attached to the outer shaft, and has a cross section that is radially collapsible to increase the size of a full-length guide wire lumen formed between an outer surface of the inner shaft and an inner surface of the outer shaft. Formed in the outer shaft is a hatch, which covers a guide wire port. The hatch has a perforated peripheral edge which allows the hatch to be removed. The balloon is simply constructed with essentially four components, which significantly reduces the labor required for assembly.

In one embodiment, the balloons are adapted for delivering therapeutic agents to the tissue wall of a body lumen, and to this end include a plurality of dimples formed in the exterior surface of the balloon, with each dimple having at least one aperture through which a fluid delivered into the interior of the balloon can extravasate. It is understood that the balloons described herein provide, inter alia, increased coverage of the tissue wall to which the agent is being delivered and less traumatic contact between the agent being delivered and the tissue wall.
