    摘要: An assembly for packaging a catheter includes flexible tubing capable of being coiled, and tubular retainer having a passageway extending therethrough. The tubular retainer includes a distal section for coupling to a proximal end of the tubing. A proximal end of the tubular retainer includes an opening for receiving a luer of the catheter assembly. A keyway is provided at a proximal end of the tubular retainer, the keyway being adapted to receive an inflation port of the luer. The keyway may include a snap point at a proximal end thereof, wherein the snap point is dimensioned such that a force is required to pass the inflation port past the snap point, thereby resulting in a snap fit. The keyway may include an entry portion beginning at the proximal end of the tubular retainer, and a nose portion disposed distal of the entry portion, with a snap point disposed therebetween. Depending on the length of the entry portion, a portion of the luer may be protected by the tubular retainer. The snap point provides a snap fit for the luer within the tubular retainer.

    摘要: An arteriovenous shunt assembly including a shunt having a hollow bore between open first and second ends thereof and a valve slidably disposed through the hollow bore. The valve includes means for retaining the valve in a closed position or in any of various selected open positions that provide corresponding different rates of blood flow through the shunt assembly. In some embodiments, the AV shunt assembly is self-expandable from a collapsed tow-profile configuration employed during transluminal delivery. The valve position in the hollow bore may be adjusted in vivo by inflating a catheter balloon in a blood vessel to bear against an end of the valve. Methods for using the shunt assembly are also disclosed.

The catheter system includes a hub defining a lumen therethrough for passage of the instrument and an elongate tubular member defining a lumen therethrough. The slitter member is disposed to slit the tubular member. The slitter further includes a moveable member that is moveably coupled to the hub and that is coupled to the tubular member, the moveable member is operable to advance the elongate tubular member toward the slitter member as the moveable member is moved relative to the hub. The slitter member thereby slits the elongate tubular member.

    摘要: A bifurcated catheter includes a first catheter branch having a first distal portion and a second catheter branch having a second distal portion. The first and second distal portions are linked together for delivery to the bifurcated region.
