摘要: The size of particles is detected accurately and at low cost even when there are few microparticles as impurities included in a liquid. Provided is a method of detecting a size of particles in a liquid by detecting diffraction fringes appearing due to the particles in the liquid by a light detection portion. Diffraction fringes are detected by a first light detection portion and a second light detection portion that are separated along the flow direction of the liquid. A peak time difference (T2) that is a difference between times at which peak values appear in a detection signal from the first and second light detection portion is measured, and an area (SQ) based on the waveform of the detection signal is measured. The sizes of the particles included in the liquid are detected based on the peak time differences (T2) and the areas (SQ) that were measured.

摘要: A vacuum cleaner includes an electric air blower; a dust separator placed at an upstream side of the electric air blower and having a filtration filter for taking in dust-containing air sucked by the electric air blower and separating the dust from the air; and a dust accommodating section for accommodating the dust separated by the dust separator. The filtration filter includes a plurality of through-holes penetrating from an upstream surface at an upstream side to a downstream surface at the downstream side, and a central axis of the through-hole is inclined with respect to a normal line direction of a surface of the filtration filter.

摘要: The invention provides methods of treating cells wherein cells in a specimen containing mucus-producing cells are stabilized, mucus in the specimen is removed without affecting the cell morphology, or cells in the specimen are dispersed individually; and reagent kits to be used in said treating methods. After the cells are stabilized by treatment with a solution containing an aldehyde compound, the cell populations can be dispersed by treatment with protease. In the case of specimens containing cells aggregated with mucus, the processes of stabilizing and treating with protease may be conducted after the mucus is removed. In order to remove mucus, cysteine and/or a compound derived therefrom is preferably used.

摘要: Mucus can be removed from cell surfaces so as to enable immunochemical labeling by bringing a cell treatment solution containing cysteine and/or a compound derived therefrom in an amount of 5 mass % or more into contact with a cell specimen containing mucus producing cells, such as uterine cervix cells. The cell preservative solution or an aqueous solution containing 30 to 60 mass % alcohol and 5 mass % or more cysteine and/or a compound derived therefrom can store cells while maintaining the state of cell dispersion without any effect on cell morphology during the period from specimen collection to analysis.

摘要: A static capacitance-to-voltage converter is capable of converting a static capacitance into a voltage without suffering from a stray capacitance formed between a signal and a shielding line or a stray capacitance formed between an exposed portion of the signal line and its surroundings. The static capacitance-to-voltage converter is formed of an operational amplifier placed in an imaginary short-circuit state between an inverting input and a non-inverting input thereof; a signal line having one end connected to the inverting input and the other end capable of being connected to a static capacitance; a shielding line surrounding the signal line and connected to the non-inverting input; an alternating current signal generator for applying the non-inverting input with an alternating current signal; and zero adjusters for adjusting the output of the static capacitance-to-voltage converter to minimum when no static capacitance is connected to the signal line.
