    摘要: A vehicle steering system for motor vehicles includes a steering handle, which is connected to steerable vehicle wheels in terms of effect in order to predefine a driving direction, as well as a hydraulic working cylinder including two cylinder chambers. Further, a hydraulic pressure source is provided, which applies hydraulic pressure to a steering valve designed as a slide valve. The steering valve controls the magnitude of the hydraulic pressure that is conveyed to the cylinder chambers of the working cylinder, and a differential pressure determines the effective direction and the magnitude of the steering aid. The steering valve is a slide valve and includes a control assembly comprising a control sleeve and a control slide. The control sleeve has at least one control window, and the differential pressure in a non-linear relationship depends on the free cross-sectional surface of the control window, which is variable due to displacement of the control slide. The edge of the control window is so configured that the free cross-sectional surface of the control window changes in such a fashion that the magnitude of the differential pressure depends substantially linearly on the displacement of the control slide.

    摘要: A method for monitoring a brake system for motor vehicles. The system can be actuated both by a vehicle driver and independently of the vehicle driver in what is known as a brake-by-wire mode. The hydraulic actuation device can be actuated by means of a brake pedal and has a main brake cylinder to which wheel brakes are connected, at least two brake circuits, a simulation device, which comprises at least one elastic element and gives the vehicle driver a comfortable pedal feeling, an electrically controllable pressure-providing device, which is formed by a cylinder/piston assembly, the piston of which can be actuated by an electromagnetic actuator, wherein the first measurement variable (PDBE) characterizing a position of the piston is detected. The detected measurement value of the first and second measurement variable (SDBE, PDBE) are compared to a predetermined characteristic map of the first and second measurement variables in order to monitor a functional status of the brake system.

The system includes an electrohydraulic wheel brake pressure modulation unit, a master brake cylinder (11) which has a pressure medium storage reservoir (12) for hydraulic brake fluid and which can be actuated by means of a brake pedal (9) and to which first and second brake circuits (I, II) are connected. Wheel brakes (3, 4, 5, 6) are connected to the first and second brake circuits (I, II). Each of the first and second brake circuits have a pair of inlets valves (14a-d, 114a-b) and a pair of outlet valves (15a-d, 115a-b) connected to the wheel brakes (3, 4, 5, 6). The outlets of the outlet valves (15a-d, 115a-b) of each of the first and second brake circuits (I, II) are connected to one another by means of jointly used hydraulic line sections (16a, 16b). A safety valve (17a, 117a; 17b, 117b) is provided by means of which an outflow of brake fluid medium out of the line section (16a, 16b) via an outlet port of the safety valves (17a, 117a; 17b, 117b) can be monitored as a means of checking the leak-tightness of the outlet valve and the safety valve.
