    摘要: In changing or otherwise handling sequential videotex codes composed of geometric codes representing individual image areas as respective geometric drawings and also characteristic codes representing attributes of the geometric drawings, the order of transmission of the geometric codes and characteristic codes is supervised on an order table and a characteristic code table is provided for supervising the characteristic codes, with correction or rearranging of the videotex code data being effected on these tables. In the case where the videotex codes are to represent an input color image, a histogram of the frequencies of occurrence of all colors represented by color data for each input color image is produced and a predetermined relatively small number n of colors having the highest frequencies of occurrence, either in the histogram as a whole, or in divisions of the histogram, are selected and each image area has assigned thereto color data representing the one of the n selected colors closest to the actual color of the image area in question.

    摘要: An ESD protection device is provided which has a low electrostatic capacitance, a low short-circuiting rate and an excellent durability. Also, in the ESD protection device, the damage derived from short-circuiting or the peak voltage can be inhibited. The ESD protection device includes an insulating substrate, electrodes separately and oppositely disposed on the insulating substrate and a discharge inducing section arranged between the electrodes. The discharge inducing section consists of porous structure with microscopic voids discontinuously dispersed therein and has a hollow structure in which at least one hollow space is contained. Further, the plane where the hollow structure is formed has a dense structure.

    摘要: An infrared communication system is disclosed, that has a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter includes a modulator, a first converter, an infrared transmission section. The modulator modulates a first electric signal and generates a second signal as a modulated signal. The first converter converts the second signal into an infrared signal. The infrared transmission section transmits the infrared signal to the receiver. The receiver includes a filter, a second converter, and a demodulator. The filter restrains rays having a spectrum whose peak is present at a predetermined wavelength emitted by a plasma display panel. The second converter converts the infrared signal passed through the filter into a third electric signal. The demodulator demodulates the third electric signal.

    摘要: In a system for carrying out communication between a plurality of apparatus connected using an IEEE 1394 serial bus etc., command register addresses are fixed from "FFFF F000 0B00h" to "FFFF F000 0D00h" and response register addresses are fixed from "FFFF F000 0D00h" to "FFFF F000 0DF0h". These addresses are then common to all of the apparatus connected to the bus. Then, while an arbitrary apparatus on the bus is sending a command to all of the remaining apparatus, the address of the command register is included in the command and this command is transmitted as a broadcast communication. This command is then stored at a command register having a common address within the apparatus that received the command. Thus, time setting and state setting etc. of each apparatus can be achieved.

    摘要: To provide an antistatic device having a low capacitance, good discharge characteristics, and small variations in the discharge characteristics. In a so-called gap-type antistatic device in which a space between a pair of opposing electrodes is filled with an electrostatic protection material, a discharge inducing portion has protrusions protruding from interfaces between the opposing electrodes and the insulation substrates toward the insulation substrates and has a shape protruding on both sides of the insulation substrates. The relationship among the gap distance between the electrodes, the thicknesses of the opposing electrodes, and the protrusions of the discharge inducing portion is controlled under specific conditions.
