摘要: A method of balancing a microelectromechanical system comprises determining if a microelectromechanical system is balanced in a plurality of orthogonal dimensions, and if the microelectromechanical system is not balanced, selectively depositing a first volume of jettable material on a portion of the microelectromechanical system to balance the microelectromechanical system in the plurality of orthogonal dimensions. A jettable material for balancing a microelectromechanical system comprises a vehicle, and a dispersion of nano-particles within the vehicle, in which the total mass of jettable material deposited on the microelectromechanical system is equal to the weight percentage of nano-particles dispersed within the vehicle multiplied by the mass of jettable material deposited on the microelectromechanical system. A microelectromechanical system comprises a number of unbalanced structures, and a number of droplets of jettable material disposed on the unbalanced structures, in which the droplets of jettable material balance the unbalanced structures in a plurality of orthogonal dimensions.

摘要: A fluid ejection assembly includes a fluid slot, and a group of uniformly spaced drop generators, where each drop generator is individually coupled to the fluid slot through a first end of a drop generator channel and to a connection channel at a second end of the drop generator channel. The fluid ejection assembly includes a pump disposed within a pump channel located between two drop generator channels, and is configured to circulate fluid from the fluid slot, into the connection channel through the pump channel, and back to the fluid slot through the drop generator channels.

摘要: An optical interconnect includes a set of splitters. Each splitter includes a source waveguide, a reflection waveguide, an output waveguide, and a partially reflective mirror element with a reflective coating. The source waveguide and the reflection waveguide are optically coupled to the partially reflective element. A photonic signal from the source waveguide is partially reflected off the reflective coating as a reflected signal into the reflection waveguide. The output waveguide is optically coupled to the opposite surface and configured such that a non-reflected portion of the photonic signal propagates into the output waveguide. The reflective coating includes a reflected surface area interfacing with the photonic signal form the source waveguide, and power of the non-reflected portion is a function of the reflective surface area interfacing with source waveguide.

摘要: In one embodiment, a display element includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a display cell defined by a dielectric material between the first electrode and the second electrode. The display cell includes a narrower portion adjacent the first electrode and a wider portion. The narrower portion has a first cross-sectional area and the wider portion has a second cross-sectional area. A cross-sectional area of the display cell gradually transitions between the first cross-sectional area and the second cross-sectional area. The display element includes a fluid with colorants within the display cell.
