Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit UE assistance information including UE capability report and measurement report to a base station, and the base station may determine a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring configuration for reduced-capability UEs based at least in part on the UE assistance information. The UE may determine whether a group common PDCCH (GC-PDCCH) communication indicates that the zone identifier is activated for an associated monitoring period. The UE may selectively perform one or more PDCCH blind decodes in one or more search space sets associated with the zone identifier during the monitoring period based at least in part on determining whether the GC-PDCCH communication indicates that the zone identifier is activated for the monitoring period. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may start a timer or counter in connection with failing to transmit a feedback message at a time for which the feedback message is scheduled for transmission. The UE may defer transmission of the feedback message for one or more attempts at transmitting the feedback message. The UE may perform one of: transmitting the feedback message before expiration of the timer or before the counter satisfying a count threshold, or discarding the feedback message after expiration of the timer or in connection with the counter satisfying the count threshold. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support use of common sequence pools for non-coherent transmissions according to one or more aspects. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes converting, by a wireless communication device, an information bit stream to an integer value. The method also includes selecting, by the wireless communication device, a sequence from a common sequence pool based on the integer value. The common sequence pool has a nested structure of sequences which map different length information bit streams with the same most significant bit or bits to the same sequences. The method further includes transmitting, by the wireless communication device, a non-coherent transmission indicating the sequence. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: An access node may provide synchronization information to a UE. The access node may further provide one or more information blocks, which may include basic network configuration information. Based on the synchronization information and/or the information block(s), the UE may transmit a message to the access node that includes a random access preamble, an identifier of the UE, and/or a buffer status report. Based on the message from the UE, the access node may determine that the UE should remain active and, therefore, may transmit a response to the first message to the UE indicating that the UE should remain active. Thereafter, the UE may receive a connection setup or connection reconfiguration message. The connection setup or reconfiguration message may be received from the same or different access node from which the UE received the synchronization information and/or the one or more information blocks.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a network entity determines a location of a target base station and a location of at least one reference device, determines an angle-of-arrival (AoA) measurement of one or more reference signals received by at least one antenna array of the target base station from the at least one reference device, determines an expected AoA between the at least one antenna array and the at least one reference device based on the location of the target base station and the location of the at least one reference device, and determines an orientation offset of the at least one antenna array based on a difference between the expected AoA and the AoA measurement.
