Abstract:
Described herein are apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media for using a communication device for providing network access to network devices on a network. An exemplary communication device may provide voice communication to a network device or a device other than the network device, and also provide network access to the network device. In order to provide network access, the communication device may comprise a network communication unit. In order to provide voice communication, the communication device may comprise a telecommunication unit. Both the network communication unit and the telecommunication unit may be activated or deactivated by the communication device or by a network controller on the network.

Abstract:
A network configurator can dynamically configure a device to couple network data between other devices in a wireless network. The devices can include two independent wireless transceivers that can each operate within different frequency bands, such as the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands. The configuration of the independent wireless transceivers can be based, at least in part, on device capabilities of the wireless transceivers, channel conditions, and a quality of service associated with the other wireless stations in the wireless network.
Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed that may allow a STA to request one or more non-associated APs to initiate channel sounding operations with the STA. In response to the request, a number of the non-associated APs may send one or more NDPs to the STA. The STA may use the received NDPs to determine a goodput value for each of the number of non-associated APs. The STA may then use the determined goodput values to select one of the number of non-associated APs with which to associate. Thereafter, the STA may initiate an association operation with the selected AP.

Abstract:
Various embodiments include systems and methods for managing radio utilization by a processor of a wireless access point. In response to receiving an access request from a wireless station, the processor may determine whether a multi-user (MU) physical layer quality of a communication link between a radio of the access point and the wireless station exceeds a quality threshold. The processor may determine whether a load of the radio of the access point is below a load threshold in response to determining that the MU physical layer quality of the communication link exceeds the quality threshold. The processor may associate the wireless station with the radio of the access point in response to determining that the load of the radio of the access point is below the load threshold. The processor may monitor established communication links to determine whether a change in association of radios with wireless stations is appropriate.

Abstract:
A system and method for operating a human control interface (HCI) for one or more devices in a wireless network. A first device in the wireless network determines an amount of noise in the wireless network, and selects one of a plurality of sounding techniques based at least in part on the determined amount of noise. The wireless communications device further detects a pattern of Doppler shifts in a received set of wireless signals using the selected sounding technique, and identifies a Doppler signature based at least in part on the pattern of Doppler shifts. The wireless communications device then associates the Doppler signature with a user input for controlling a second device in the wireless network.

Abstract:
A system and method for object detection in a wireless network. A wireless communications device receives a first set of wireless signals on a first frequency band, and generates a first interference profile for the wireless network based on signal interference in the first set of wireless signals. The wireless communications device further receives a second set of wireless signals on a second frequency band, and generates a second interference profile for the wireless network based on signal interference in the second set of wireless signals. The wireless communications device then detects the presence of an object in the wireless network based at least in part on the first interference profile and the second interference profile.
