    摘要： The invention provides a print head parking structure that includes a solvent and/or surface treatment bath for inkjet print heads. Print heads may be returned to the print head parking structure after a substrate has been printed, after one or more printing passes, and/or frequently enough to prevent ink from drying on or clogging the print heads. Once sealed within the print head parking structure, the print heads (or a portion thereof) may be dipped in a solvent bath or pool to dissolve or wash away any ink that has been deposited on the print heads.

    摘要： The invention provides a method of operating a inkjet printing system that may include a print head parking structure and a print head cleaning station. A print head parking structure may include a solvent and/or nozzle surface treatment bath for inkjet print heads. Print heads may be returned to the print head parking structure after a substrate has been printed, after one or more printing passes, and/or frequently enough to prevent ink from drying on or clogging the print heads. Once sealed within the print head parking structure, the print heads (or a portion thereof) may be dipped in a solvent bath to dissolve or wash away any ink that has been deposited on the print heads. The print heads may be coated with a surface treatment that improves jetting reliability. The print heads may be dried and moved to the print head cleaning station where they may be wiped and pre-jetting may be performed.

Embodiments of a method of ink jet printing include moving a substrate under the print heads of printing assembly sequentially in a printing direction, activating alternate ink jetting channels within each print head of the first printing assembly, activating corresponding channels within adjacent print heads in the first printing assembly alternately, and depositing ink in alternating sub-pixels within one or more pixels on the substrate.

The system may include a print controller including one or more drivers, at least one print head coupled to the drivers, a stage controller coupled to the print controller, one or more motors coupled to the stage controller, encoders coupled to the motors and the stage controller, and a host coupled to the stage controller and the print controller. The host is adapted to transfer pattern parameter data to the print controller, and the print controller is adapted to use the pattern parameter data to trigger the at least one print head to deposit ink into pixel wells on a substrate as the substrate is moved in a print direction by the at least one motor under the direction of the stage controller in response to a command from the host.

The driver may include logic including a processor, memory coupled to the logic, and a fire pulse generator circuit coupled to the logic. The fire pulse generator may include a connector to facilitate coupling the driver to a print head. The fire pulse generator circuit may also include a fixed current source circuit adapted to generate a fire pulse with a constant slew rate that facilitates easy adjustment of ink drop size. The logic is adapted to receive an image and to convert the image to an image data file. The image data file is adapted to be used by the driver to trigger the print head to deposit ink into pixel wells on a substrate as the substrate is moved in a print direction.
