    摘要: The present invention is directed to sample test cards having an increased sample well capacity for analyzing biological or other test samples. In one embodiment, the sample test cards of the present invention comprises a fluid channel network disposed in both the first surface and the second surface and connecting the fluid intake port to the sample wells, the fluid channel network comprising at least one distribution channels, a plurality of fill channels operatively connected to the at least one distribution channel, a plurality of through-channels operatively connected to one or more of the fill channels and a plurality of horizontally orientated fill ports operatively connecting the fill channels to the sample wells.

    摘要: Specimen containers incorporating a sensor are provided with features for decreasing the volume of polymer matrix material required for the sensor. Such volume-reducing features can take the form of scallop-like indentations projecting inwards towards the interior of the container formed in the transition between the side wall of the container and the base of the container. Alternatively, the base of the container includes a raised rim extending upwards into the interior of the body inward of and spaced from the side wall. The rim defines a chamber for the sensor. Methods of manufacturing specimen containers with cured liquid phase sensor matrix materials are also disclosed.

    摘要: An electric arc welder has a current-conducting means which can supply welding power to an arc along a first volt-ampere curve, has a second current-conducting means which can be paralleled with the first current-conducting means to supply welding power to that arc along a second and distinctly-different volt-ampere curve, has a voltage-sensing circuit which senses the arc voltage, and has a control circuit which automatically and virtually-instantaneously shifts the supplying of welding power from a point on the first volt-ampere curve to a point of essentially-equal potential on the second and distinctly-different volt-ampere curve when the voltage-sensing circuit senses that the arc voltage has fallen below a predetermined value. That control circuit will subsequently shift the supplying of welding power from a point on the second and distinctly-different volt-ampere curve to a point of essentially-equal potential on the first volt-ampere curve when the voltage-sensing circuit senses that the arc voltage has risen above that predetermined value. In this way, a welding wire or welding rod can be continually advanced toward a weld puddle in a work piece, and the welding power which is supplied along the second and distinctly-different volt-ampere curve will transfer the tip of that welding wire or welding rod to that weld puddle without "shorting" and thereby extinguishing the arc.
