摘要: Disclosed are foamable copolyester compositions containing 0.5 to 5.0 mole percent of a dicarboxylic acid sulfomonomer which contains at least one metal sulfonate group attached to an aromatic nucleus. These copolyesters possess high melt viscosity and are readily foamable with a wide range of foaming agents to provide low density shaped articles, films, and sheets.

摘要: This invention relates to new linear polyester waxes which contain as the acid member at least about 75 mol percent 1,12-dodecanedioic acid. The polyester waxes may be viscous liquids, amorphous or semicrystalline solids with melting points less than about 100.degree. C. These polyester waxes are useful as modifiers for ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer based adhesives and as additives to improve the hardness of polyolefin coatings.

摘要: This invention relates to blends of plasticizing oils and compatible tackifiers with olefin copolymers containing propylene, either 1-butene or 1-pentene and 3 to 14 mole percent of at least one C.sub.6 to C.sub.10 linear .alpha.-olefin which are useful as hot-melt, pressure-sensitive adhesives. The unmodified copolymer base resins have melt viscosities in the range of 10,000 cp up to about 1,000,000 cp at 190.degree. C. The addition of the plasticizing oils and compatible tackifiers to the copolymer base resin causes a dramatic and unexpected increase in the shear adhesion failure time in addition to improved coatability as well as substantial increases in probe tack and peel adhesion values of the copolymers.

摘要: Compositions suitable for use as hot-melt textile warp sizes are prepared by blending copolymers of ethylene and acrylic acid, methacryclic acid and the like, with selected low-molecular-weight additives, such as low-molecular-weight ethylene/acrylic acid copolymers, ethylene/methacrylic acid copolymers, and/or dicarboxylic acids, monoglycerides and waxes. These blends have low melt viscosities, can be readily applied to textile yarns with conventional hot-melt application equipment and set up rapidly to nontacky protective coatings on the yarns. After processing of the yarns, the new hot-melt sizes are readily removable using conventional scouring procedures.
