    摘要： An apparatus and method to perform therapeutic treatment and diagnosis of a patient's vasculature through the use of an intravascular device having an optical fiber disposed therein. In an embodiment, the apparatus includes an intravascular device to perform a therapeutic treatment and at least one optical fiber disposed through the intravascular device. The optical fiber is configured to provide diagnostic information before, during, and after the therapeutic treatment. In an embodiment, diagnostic information includes vessel and blood characteristics such as hemodynamic characteristics, hematological parameters related to blood and blood components, and thermal parameters of the vasculature.

    摘要： An intravascular device for locating a coronary sinus of a patient's heart and method of using the same. In one embodiment, the intravascular device includes an elongated member having at least one lumen and at least one optical fiber coupled to the elongated member. The optical fiber has a distal end configured to contact with a blood flow within the patient's heart and a proximal end coupled to a laser Doppler velocimetry system for performing a plurality of laser Doppler velocity measurements of the blood flow within the heart to locate the coronary sinus of the heart. Incorporating LDV technology into an intravascular device such as a catheter or a guidewire system provides diagnostic information of the physiologic environment of the lesion before, during, or after a therapeutic procedure.

    摘要： A catheter and method of using same for support or exchange of a guidewire during a percutaneous procedure which has at least one lumen in an elongate shaft with a proximal port and a distal port in fluid communication via an inner lumen. The catheter has a longitudinal slit in the inner lumen beginning at the proximal end of the elongate shaft and extends distally. An elongate support member is secured to the elongate shaft to provide axial rigidity to the catheter. Optionally, a second inner lumen is disposed within the elongate shaft adjacent the aforementioned inner lumen which has an intermediate port disposed distally of the proximal end of the elongate shaft.
