    摘要： An assembly (100) for acoustic sealing of a transducer (104) in a communication device is provided. The assembly (100) allows for assembly along one axis (112) and acoustical sealing along another axis (115). The assembly (100) allows for another transducer (106) to be acoustically sealed on a different plane than that of the first transducer (104). Through the use of a compliant member (204) and rigid member (108) coupled to the transducer (104) a floating seal is formed between the chassis (102) and the housing (103) of the communication device (100).

    摘要： A battery interface assembly for a communication device (100), such as a portable radio, is provided to ensure a reliable interconnection between battery contacts (230) and radio contacts (108). Communication device (100) includes a casting (110) having a cavity (112) with two apertures formed therein (114, 228). The two apertures (114, 228) open into the cavity (112) to provide a point of contact for mating radio contacts (108) to the battery contacts (230). The battery contacts (230) are wiping contacts which mate with the radio contacts (108) as the battery is slid into the casting (110). A compression seal (126) is provided to the radio contacts (108) while a radial seal (120) is provided about the battery contacts (230) to ensure reliable electrical and physical connection under a variety of environments.

    摘要： A latching mechanism is provided. The latching mechanism includes a first member (2) having a first catch (4) and lateral catches (6), and a second member (1) having a notch (7) and lateral catches (8). In a first position, the first catch of the first member engages the notch of the second member. In a second position, the lateral catches of the first member engage the lateral catches of the second member. Further, when in the first position, the first catch and the notch are disengaged by squeezing one of the members at lateral points while sliding the members relative to one another until the lateral catches are engaged and the members are in the second position. Also provided is a battery pack (1, 2) having such a latching mechanism. Additionally, there is provided an electronic device that includes an operational unit (3), a tray (2) for holding battery cells, and a cover (1). The tray is removably coupled to the operational unit, and the cover is removably coupled to the tray. In an operating position, the operational unit is latched to the tray, and the cover is latched to the tray. The cover can be slid from the operating position to a maintenance position in which the cover and tray are coupled together so that either the tray and cover can be removed from the operational unit together, or the cover can be slid further and removed from the tray while the tray remains latched to the operational unit.

    摘要： A submersible electrical connector assembly (300) includes an electrical connector (301) mounted to a first substrate (309) where a second substrate (311) adjoins the first substrate (309). The second substrate (311) is comprised of a pliable material that acts as a seal. The first substrate and second substrate are positioned within a compartmentalized area of an electrical device housing for preventing water or other fluid from entering an aperture within the housing. Although water may inadvertently enter the electrical connector (301), the connector assembly (300) is substantially submersible since water is prevented from entering the housing (400) as used for an electronic device.

A flex (106) electrically interconnects a flip compartment (102) to a main radio compartment (104). First and second seals (112, 114) coupled to the ends (108, 110) of the flex (106) provide independent sealing of the flip compartment (102) from the main radio compartment (104). Thus, the flex (106) provides both electrical interconnect and independent mechanical sealing of the two compartments (102, 104).
