摘要： The subject communication system is an improved cellular mobile telecommunication system which provides business communication features to cellular mobile telecommunication customers.This is accomplished by using a business communication system as the switch element in the mobile telecommunication office. The master-slave relationship between the mobile telecommunication controller and the system processor that is found in the prior art is replaced by a peer-peer relationship. The mobile telecommunication control functions are handled by the mobile telecommunication controller while the call processing/connection control functions are handled by the system processor. Thus, the existing business communication call processing software can be used directly and any new business communication service provided by the business communication system is also available to the cellular mobile telecommunication customer. The mobile unit is now a "mobile office" and it is treated as any other business communication station set.

摘要： An antenna arrangement for use over a metallic surface in motor vehicles is adapted to improve reception in the AM frequency range. An FM loop includes two conductor sections separated by a capacitor. An AM probe extends from one of the conductor sections near an antenna feed line connector and isolates AM signals by an L-C circuit between the probe and the connection to the conductor section. Omnidirectional reception is achieved by a coplanar WB probe, FM probe and AM coiled loop between them, mounted to a substrate.

摘要： A wireless-access communications system, such as a CDMA cellular radio-telephone system (FIG. 2), comprises a packet-switched communications network (202, 207, 201) that interconnects cells (base stations; 202) with each other and with the public telephone network (100). Traffic of individual calls is packetized, and packet-bearing frames (300 in FIG. 7) of a plurality of calls are then statistically multiplexed and frame-relayed through the network to yield the high capacity, efficiency, and speed of traffic transport and handoff required for a CDMA cellular system. At each call processing unit (264 in FIG. 5), individual calls are handled by individual service circuits (602 and 612) which perform speech-processing functions such as coding and decoding, tone insertion, and echo cancellation, and packet-to-circuit-switched-PCM traffic conversion. Processors (602) adapt call processing unit timing to compensate for asynchrony between cells and call processing units and variations in call path transmission delays. Cell-to-cell communications, fixed call path addressing, and packetized control message transfers ensure that the same service circuit handles a call through even multiple soft handoffs (FIGS. 27-29) and efficiently communicates simultaneously with all cells involved in the handoff without involvement of system control entities and negative effect on system call-handling capacity. Both coded (packet-switched) and uncoded (circuit-switched) radio-telephone traffic are accommodated side-by-side. Wherever possible, existing and proven technology and component units are used to achieve low cost and high reliability.

摘要： A coffee maker for use in a vehicle such as a commercial aircraft. The coffee make accepts a sealed can of ground coffee. The can is pierced from the side by a pair of can-piercing spikes by actuating the can against the spikes. The can is drawn by a hydraulically operated cylinder mechanism powered by the water pressure of the aircraft's potable water supply. Hot water is injected into the can through a passage within at least one of the spikes and the hot water is circulated within the can thereby brewing the coffee. Brewed coffee exits the can along the sides of one or both of the spikes and is channeled down into a reservoir located below the can. The brewed coffee may be filtered before and/or after the flowing into the reservoir. A desired volume of coffee may then be drawn from the reservoir.

摘要： A combined AM/FM/cellular telephone antenna system comprises a coaxial cable with an upper portion of the inner conductor of the coaxial cable and an adjacent section of the coaxial cable together forming a cellular telephone dipole antenna. The coaxial cable forms a transmission line connecting the cellular dipole antenna to cellular telephone equipment. The outer conductor of a portion of the coaxial cable below the cellular dipole antenna serves as the AM/FM antenna. The combined antenna is encaged in a fiberglass housing and mounted on a metallic base having an upper shell and a lower shell. The upper shell is electrically connected to the outer conductor of the coaxial cable forming the antenna and the lower shell is connected to a ground plane. A coaxial cable having a center conductor connected to the upper shell and an outer conductor connected to the lower shield provides connection to AM/FM receiver equipment. Another coaxial cable having a center conductor connected to the center conductor of the antenna and an outer conductor connected to the lower shell provides connection to cellular telephone apparatus. A dielectric between the upper and lower shells provides a capacitance with low impedance in the cellular telephone frequency range and a high impedance in the AM/FM frequency range.

摘要： A beverage water heating supply system. A tank stores water while heaters heat the water. The heated water is distributed through a manifold assembly, which has a multiplicity of components, to a coffee brewer water and a hot water spigot which are controlled by independent solenoid valves. The water is filtered before entering the tank and is filtered a second time before leaving the tank to enter the manifold assembly. The tank employs a combination temperature sensing and water level detection circuit probe to prevent over heating and heating when the tank is not full. The manifold assembly includes a pressure release valve, a blowout port backup pressure release valve, an automatic vent valve, a brewer water pickup, a lower hot water pick up, and a pressure compensating flow control for the brewer water. The manifold is quickly connected to and disconnected from the tank with a bayonet type connection without removing any of the connections to the manifold. A lock and release lever is provided for locking the manifold to the tank. Upon removal of the manifold from the tank, a large opening is available for removing the filter from the tank and cleaning the inside of the tank.

摘要： An antenna module for use a non-conductive cab of a motor vehicle includes a dielectric substrate and one or more antenna loops arranged on the substrate. The substrate is adapted to be installed between the headliner of a cab and the dielectric roof. The module may include a CB antenna loop, an AM/FM antenna loop, a cellular mobile telephone antenna loop, and a global positioning system antenna, without the need for any antenna structure external to the cab. The antennae are arranged on the module in a nested configuration. A CB antenna, provided with loading coils, forms an outer loop. An AM/FM antenna loop, including a capacitor yielding a substantially short circuit connection in the FM frequency range, forms a FM frequency antenna loop and an AM frequency dipole, within the CB loop. A multiloop array cellular telephone antenna is arranged within the AM/FM loop. A standard crossed dipole GPS antenna is positioned in an area between the CB loop and the AM/FM loop near one corner of the substrate. Coaxial antenna feedlines connected to the various antennae are routed through cab support posts to associated electronic circuitry in the cab.
