The biasing may be based in terms of a compression of the seal within a predetermined range of compression. A shielding of the seal from the at least one of the fire zone and the high-pressure zone may be provided.

The cowl includes a first side portion and a second side portion. The first and second side portions each are pivotably connected to the nacelle proximate a top of the nacelle. The first and second side portions are configured so that they abut one another to form an external split line proximate the top of the nacelle.

摘要: A virtual blocker door for use in an aircraft thrust reverser is provided. The virtual blocker door may be capable of creating a wall of air to inhibit fan air flow through a fan air duct. The wall of air may direct the fan air flow through a cascade to provide a reverse thrust. Moreover, the virtual blocker door provides for improved aerodynamic efficiency in the fan air duct by replacing traditional brackets, drag links, and doors with a wall of air.

摘要: A thrust reverser of a propulsion system nacelle is provided. The thrust reverser extends circumferentially about a lengthwise-extending centerline. The thrust reverser includes a lengthwise-extending upper track beam, a lengthwise-extending lower track beam, an annular torque box extending circumferentially between the upper and lower track beams, and an annular cascade array extending circumferentially between the upper and lower track beams. The cascade array is circumferentially segmented into a plurality of cascade portions. At least one of the plurality of cascade portions is made at least substantially of a material that permits the at least one cascade portion to bear high loads during both a forward thrust operation of the thrust reverser and a thrust reversing operation of the thrust reverser.
