摘要: Two floating rails are provided on a slider of a floating magnetic head. Rear portions, in the advancing direction of a floating magnetic head with respect to a magnetic recording medium, of the respective floating rails are cut out. That is, the floating rails exist only in front of the cut-out portions. An auxiliary rail is formed in the rear of one of the floating rails. The auxiliary rail is narrower than the floating rail, wider than the track width of an electromagnetic conversion element, and approximately as high as the floating rail. The electromagnetic conversion element is provided at a rear portion of the auxiliary rail.

摘要: A floating type composite magnetic head includes a slider, having an air bearing surface, made of a non-magnetic substance, a magnetic head core which is formed of a pair of magnetic cores defining a magnetic gap, or a pair of magnetic cores having a magnetic gap defined by a butting surface on which is formed a magnetic metallic thin film, and is fixed by bonding glass in a groove provided in a flow-out end of the air bearing of the slider, excitation coils wound in a window section of the head core, and a front gap surface of the magnetic head core being placed so as to oppose the magnetic recording medium. The magnetic head core back surface and the slider rear surface are formed as to be flush at least in the vicinity of the groove, and preferably have a maximum surface roughness of 3 to 8 .mu.m.

摘要: A floating magnetic head having a magnetic head core incorporated in a non-magnetic slider of a cubic configuration. The core is disposed perpendicular to the plane of a magnetic disk. The core is bonded by glass to the slider at one side of the core facing the magnetic disk, and also is bonded by a resin or bonding material to the slider at the other side of the core remote from the magnetic disk. A resin or an adhesive tape is applied to the back surface of the slider, supported by a support member, at a predetermined ratio of the resin or the adhesive tape to the area of the back surface. It is effective to bond the support member to the back surface of the slider by adhesives applied to that portion of the back surface greater than the point of bonding between the support member and the back surface.
