    摘要: The display device includes a display portion having a cavity portion surrounded by wall surfaces, at least one part of the wall surfaces being formed of a transparent member and forming a structural color forming surface provided with fine asperities having predetermined regularity, a liquid being hermetically sealed to have a liquid surface in the cavity portion and having a refractive index approximately equivalent to that of the transparent member, an actuator giving a disturbance to the liquid to bring the liquid into contact with the forming surface and a control unit controlling driving of the actuator to switch reflection and transmission characteristics of light when the light is incident into the forming surface, thereby controlling color display using reflected light formed by the forming surface.

    摘要: An inkjet recording head includes nozzles arrayed in one direction and ink droplet ejecting devices formed in the respective nozzles. Each nozzle has a height difference in a depthwise direction on a side on which ink droplets are ejected and an ink liquid surface is formed between both edges forming the height difference. An inkjet printer uses this inkjet recording head. The inkjet recording head can eject ink obliquely to the ejection surface for correcting recording pitches at joining portions and preventing the periphery of the nozzles from being contaminated by the ink splashed back from image receiving paper. The ejection angle and the ejecting direction can also be suitably selected and adjusted.

    摘要: A display element for displaying an image with an ink has an transparent substrate having a void space for containing the ink therein to form a display section. The space has the first opening and the second opening opposing to each other. The first opening communicates with an atmosphere via an atmosphere communicating passage. The second opening allows the ink to introduce to the space of the image display section from an ink supply passage. The atmosphere communicating passage is controlled to close by a sealing member, whereby the movement of the ink into the space is controlled. The plural display elements are arranged to form a display unit and the plural display units are arranged in a matrix to form an image display device for displaying an image with the ink.

    摘要: The inkjet printer head includes heating elements and ejection nozzles. Each of the heating elements has a heating resistor which is energized by application of an electric current so that a part of ink which is located in proximity to the heating resistor is boiled to form a bubble. The expansion of the formed bubble causes the ink to be ejected as a droplet through each of the ejection nozzles. Each of said heating elements has no protective film disposed between the heating resistor and the ink in which the bubble is to be formed. A thickness of said heating resistor is in a range of from 2 μm to 5 μm.

    摘要: An inkjet head includes: a pressure chamber; an actuator which expands and contracts volume of the pressure chamber; an ink supply flow channel; an individual supply flow channel having one end connected to the ink supply flow channel and another end connected to the pressure chamber, for guiding ink from the ink supply flow channel to the pressure chamber; a nozzle which ejects the ink; a nozzle flow channel having one end connected to the pressure chamber and another end connected to the nozzle, for guiding the ink from the pressure chamber to the nozzle; an ink recovery flow channel; an individual recovery flow channel having one end connected to the nozzle flow channel at a prescribed connection position set at an intermediate point of the nozzle flow channel and another end connected to the ink recovery flow channel, for guiding the ink from the nozzle flow channel to the ink recovery flow channel; an ink flow generation device which generates a flow of the ink from the nozzle flow channel toward the individual recovery flow channel; and a control device which controls driving of the actuator so as to drive the actuator in such a manner that, when performing ejection, volume of the pressure chamber contracts and thereby the ink is caused to be ejected from the nozzle, and when not performing the ejection, the volume of the pressure chamber expands and thereby a meniscus position of the ink is caused to be withdrawn to a vicinity of the prescribed connection position.
