    Abstract: An electronic device and a method for recognizing accessories that are mounted into a connector of an electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a housing that includes a first surface that faces in the first direction and a second surface that faces in the second direction, opposite the first direction, a display that is disposed between the first surface and the second surface and is exposed through the first surface, a power supply unit that applies a voltage, and at least one processor that is electrically connected to the display, wherein: the housing includes a universal serial bus (USB) type-C connector, the connector includes a contact substrate that is electrically connected to the processor to detect the insertion of an accessory, and the power supply unit and the processor are electrically connected to a mid plate that is formed in the contact substrate.

    Abstract: An external memory power control apparatus and method capable of controlling power of an external memory inserted into a mobile terminal. The external memory power control apparatus includes an external memory power switch for switching between a power supply and an external memory to supply or block power for the external memory; and a controller, when ‘power-on’ is selected on the mobile terminal, for checking and notifying operability of the external memory inserted into the mobile terminal after completing booting while the external memory power switch turned off, wherein the controller may selectively turn on/off the external memory power switch depending on operability of the external memory.

    Abstract: An electronic device and method are disclosed herein. The electronic device may include a housing, a socket disposed in the housing, a tray insertable into the socket, and into which at least one of a storage medium card and a subscriber identity module (SIM) card is insertable, a communication circuit disposed in the housing, a processor disposed in the housing and electrically coupled to the communication circuit and a memory electrically coupled to the processor. And the memory may store instructions executable by the processor to cause the processor to perform a communication through the communication circuit by using a first SIM card inserted in the tray, while the tray is inserted into the socket, in response to detecting removal of the tray from the socket, deactivate at least part of the communication circuit, in response to detecting re-insertion of the tray into the socket, detecting whether a particular SIM card inserted into the re-inserted tray matches the first SIM card and determine whether to perform initialization of the communication circuit based at least partially on whether the particular SIM card matches the first SIM card.

    Abstract: A display device and/or an electronic device including the same includes a flexible display panel, a driving device having a shape memory alloy member and a temperature control device adapted to control a temperature of the shape memory alloy member, and a link part, one end of which is connected to at least one end portion of the flexible display panel and another end of which is connected to the driving device, in which the driving device changes a curvature of the flexible display panel by controlling the temperature of the shape memory alloy member using the temperature control device, so that a force generated by shape memory alloy member when assuming a predetermined shape drives the link part to move the at least one end portion of the flexible display panel.
