摘要: An LCD device is discussed, which comprises first and second substrates confronting each other; a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates; and red, green, blue, and fourth color filters on the first substrate; wherein the fourth color filter is formed of any color whose transparency is better than that of at least one of the red, green, and blue color filters, and wherein an effective area of the fourth color filter is smaller than that of at least one of the red, green, and blue color filters. The LCD device can display white color with good transparency by properly adjusting the effective areas of the four color filters, whereby there is no need to modulate light for display of the white color in a backlight unit, to thereby improve luminance of light emitted from the backlight unit.

摘要: An inspecting method using an electro-optical detecting device is disclosed. The electro-optical detecting device includes: an upper substrate and a lower substrate; a nematic liquid crystal layer interposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate; a transparent electrode interposed between the nematic liquid crystal layer and the upper substrate, the transparent electrode connected to a device under test (DUT) via a power supply; a polarizing plate located over the nematic liquid crystal layer; and a reflecting plate located under the nematic liquid crystal layer. A method using the electro-optical detecting device includes applying a voltage between the transparent electrode and the DUT to generate an electric field across the liquid crystal layer; illuminating the detector and capturing an image of the detector using the light reflected from the detector; and determining the DUT has some defects from the image of the detector by an abnormal electric field generated between the transparent electrode and the DUT.

摘要: An optimized paste composition and green sheet form a dielectric layer of a plasma display panel. A plasma display panel is formed by (a) preparing a green sheet of a film-forming material layer formed by applying a paste composition containing PbO-based powder, a binder resin, a dispersing agent, a plasticizer, and a solvent onto a supporting film; (b) transferring the film-forming material layer of the green sheet onto a substrate with electrodes by using a heating roller; and (c) sintering the film-forming material layer transferred onto the substrate. The result is an excellent dielectric layer formed with minimal processing time, and the dielectric layer has good resistance to high temperature and high pressure.
