    摘要： A process including providing at least a flexible substrate layer having a first major surface on one side and a second major surface on a second side opposite the first major surface, the first major surface being an exposed surface, applying a coating of an anticurl backing layer dispersion on the first major surface of the substrate layer, the dispersion comprising a volatile carrier liquid, a film forming polymer dissolved in the volatile carrier liquid, solid organic particles dispersed in the volatile carrier liquid, and an organic additive dissolved in the volatile carrier liquid, the organic additive represented by the structural formula: wherein m is a number from 1 to 99, n is a number from 1 to 99, p is an integer between 1 and 10, f is an integer between 1 and 8, and I is an integer between 10 and 500, and drying the coating to remove the volatile carrier and form a dried anticurl backing layer. An electrostatographic imaging member containing this anticurl backing layer is also described.

    摘要： A coating method using an endless, hollow substrate in the shape of a belt or cylinder having an outer surface, an inner surface, a first end, and an open second end, including: (a) depositing via dip coating a first coating solution over the outer surface of the substrate and simultaneously over the inner surface by permitting the first coating solution to flow through the second end to be deposited on the inner surface, thereby depositing a first layer over the outer surface and the inner surface; and (b) depositing via dip coating a second coating solution over the first layer on the outer surface of the substrate and simultaneously over the first layer on the inner surface by permitting the second coating solution to flow through the second end to be deposited on the first layer on the inner surface, thereby depositing a second layer over the outer surface and the inner surface, wherein the first layer and the second layer are deposited over all of the outer surface and the inner surface of a predetermined section of the substrate, wherein the first coating solution and the second coating solution are selected from the group consisting of a charge generating solution, a charge transport solution, an adhesive layer solution, and a charge blocking layer.

    摘要： An electroforming process and apparatus for creating a nickel or like substrate encapsulated by another material to prevent wear to the nickel substrate. The encapsulation of the nickel substrate requires encapsulation of the inner and outer diameter of the nickel substrate. The encapsulating material must adhere to the nickel substrate. Encapsulation of the nickel substrate prevents exposure of the nickel and thus avoids the hazardous nickel dust particles that can occur when the nickel is exposed.
