    Abstract: A filtration and demineralization apparatus that is capable of reducing the cost of the apparatus and building cost by using an apparatus whose height is limited, and that is also capable of ensuring sufficient treatment capacity, as well as good operability, is provided. A filtration and demineralization apparatus 10 comprises a vessel 20 in a form of a body of revolution; a hollow columnar body 40 that is located in an internal space of the vessel 20, one end 40a of the columnar body being connected to an inner surface of the vessel 20 along an entire circumference of the end, and the other end 40b of the columnar body forming an opening; and a partition plate 44 that is connected to the other end 40b of the hollow columnar body along an entire circumference of the other end 40b, the partition plate being configured to separate an inside space or an outside space of the hollow columnar body 40 as an independent space in the vessel. The partition plate 44 has a circulation port 43 that allows water that is to be treated to pass therethrough. The independent space in the vessel that is separated by the partition plate functions as a filtration chamber 41 in which filter elements are loaded, and the inside space or the outside space of the hollow columnar body that is not separated as the independent space by the partition plate functions as a demineralization chamber 22, the water that was treated in the filtration chamber being adapted to enter the demineralization chamber through the circulation port 43.

    Abstract: A condensate filtering device of the present invention comprises a simulation unit which is able to simulate operating conditions being the same as operating conditions of a main body of an actual condensate filtering device and sample a hollow fiber membrane easily. The condensate filtering device comprises a unit evaluating properties of a hollow fiber membrane provided with a main body of the condensate filtering device containing a first hollow fiber membrane module in which filtration of condensate and air scrubbing washing are repeated, and equipped with a column containing a second hollow fiber membrane module having a hollow fiber membrane which is the same kind as the hollow fiber membrane of the first hollow fiber membrane module; and a line introducing the condensate for unit which is a branched line from a line introducing the condensate directing to the main body of the condensate filtering device and introduces the condensate into the unit evaluating the properties of the hollow fiber membrane.

    Abstract: A method used during the manufacturing of a device of an optical pickup device for bonding and fixing drive coils to a lens holder or other parts of a drive device. The optical pickup device has a lens holder and a magnetic drive device for driving the lens holder in a tracking direction and a focusing direction, the magnetic drive device having a permanent magnet and drive coils fixed to the lens holder. The method includes providing a fuse wire having a wire and a fuse coating covering the wire, pressing the fuse wire on the lens holder at a predetermined position, energizing the fuse wire in the pressed position to melt the fuse coating, and curing the melt fuse coating to bond and fix the fuse wire to the lens holder to form the drive coils. Alternatively, the fuse wire may be melt first and then pressed to the desired position of the lens holder. The current used for energizing the coil to melt the fuse coating or fuse film is much larger than drive currents used during normal operation of the optical pickup device.

    Abstract: A baffle plate 17 inside an oil pan 16 attached to the lower part of an engine cylinder block is spherically shaped so as to bulge upward, and oil dropping holes are formed in low positions in this baffle plate 17. Return oil flow from the engine lubricating operation drops from the engine onto the baffle plate and travels along the baffle plate toward the walls of the oil pan, this travel facilitating removal of air which became mixed with the oil during the lubricating operation. Oil dropping holes are formed in low positions in the baffle plate to communicate the oil return to the pool of same in the oil pan.     Abstract: An oil strainer head is attached to an oil suction pipe using a machined bulge flange in the pipe. A connection flange on the oil strainer head is fitted over the lower end of the pipe below the bulge flange. The bulge flange is then crimped in an outward curve to deform the connection flange into a corresponding outward curve captured within the crimped lower end. This structure eliminates the need for reinforcement and welding and produces a strong, non-leaking joint that reduces the number of parts and manufacturing operations.
