摘要： In the image display device according to the present invention, control is performed such that a condition of not using a subsidiary pixel which corresponds to a specific color among the subsidiary pixels constituting a first pixel is selected as a condition for signal processing to output a signal for designating intensity of each subsidiary pixels constituting the first pixel, and a condition of using a subsidiary pixel which corresponds to a specific color among the subsidiary pixel constituting a second pixel is selected as a condition for signal processing to output a signal for designating intensity of each subsidiary pixels constituting the second pixel adjacent to the first pixel in the first direction.

摘要： A signal processing method comprises the steps of: inputting three signals specifying a color of one pixel; and generating four signals from the input three signals, wherein each of said four signals represents intensities of four different colors to display a color of one pixel by mixing colors, wherein said generating step includes a first converting step of converting the input three signals to two signals representing intensities of two colors among the four colors and a signal representing intensity of a mixed color obtained by mixing (a) the four colors or (b) a plurality of colors among the four colors; and a second converting step of converting the signal representing intensity of the mixed color to a plurality of signals representing intensities of a plurality of colors including at least other two colors different from the two colors.

摘要： The present invention relates to an image display apparatus for forming an image with a plurality of luminescent spots to be precisely aligned in a matrix. For example, a spacer disposed between an electron source and a face plate causes luminescent spots on the face plate spaced unevenly. The luminescent spots spaced unevenly will produce a visual unevenness in luminance which deteriorates the quality of produced image. By modifying the quantity of light of luminescent spots spaced unevenly, the visual unevenness in luminance is compensated.

摘要： This invention can suppress overshoot/undershoot, and can maintain the improvement effect of the leading edge of an edge portion. For this purpose, a second derivative signal generator (1) generates a second derivative signal (s5) on the basis of time-serially input three successive pixels. A second derivative signal suppression unit (2) generates a signal (s8) obtained by suppressing the second derivative signal, and a signal (s9) indicating the sign of the second derivative signal. The absolute values of the differences between the pixel of interest, and its neighboring pixels are computed, and a smaller one of the absolute values is selected as a signal (s14) by a minimum value selection circuit (18). By multiplying the obtained signals (s8, s9, s14) by a multiplier (19), an edge-emphasizing signal (s15) is generated. The edge-emphasizing signal (s15) is added to the signal of the pixel of interest by an adder (20), thus obtaining an edge-emphasized signal s16.
