摘要： This device measures the level of a certain chemical in a liquid infiltrated into a piece of test paper impregnated with a test chemical the optical properties of which alter according to the level of the certain chemical. It includes: a test paper holder, provided in a test paper insertion unit provided in a casing; a device for emitting light and a device for sensing light, both provided to oppose a piece of test paper held by the holder; a cover, slidably mounted to the casing, for selectably covering over the insertion unit; a device for biasing this cover in one direction; a device for engaging this cover in an extreme position in the opposite direction; and a device for releasing the engagement of the engaging device. This engagement releasing device may be a press button provided to the casing; and the sliding direction of the cover may be its opening direction of movement, or alternatively may be its closing direction of movement. Alternatively, this device may include a device for emitting light and a device for sensing light, both provided to oppose a piece of test paper, and a switch for selecting between an action mode for executing a measurement action and at least one other mode for performing some other function, these modes being switched between every time this mode selection switch is actuated. Optionally, at least three such modes may be switched between in a cyclical sequence. The mode selection switch may include a mode selection button.

摘要： A radiation clinical thermometer includes a moveable probe which actuates a start switch when inserted into a patients ear. The radiation clinical thermometer also includes a probe cover device for dismounting a probe cover from the probe. The probe cover device is operatively connected in circuit with the start switch to only allow operation of the thermometer when the probe cover device is in a position indicating that a probe cover is mounted on the probe. The thermometer also includes time delay devices which preclude operating the thermometer unless the start switch or the probe cover detection device is in a predetermined position for a predetermined amount of time.

摘要： A sensor probe cover (20) is composed of two substantially square transparent films (21) and (22) and a ring (23) having a hole (23a) suitable for being mated with a sensor probe (12). The center of the first film (21) is provided with a hole (21a), and the ring (23) is fused to the inner periphery of the hole (21a) on the inner surface of the first film (21). The ring (23) is made of a material harder than that of the films. The first film (21) and the second film (22) are thermally fused together at the four corners of these films. The thermally fused locations are indicated at (20a). When used in the cover of the probe of an infrared thermometer, the second film (22) is made of a material transparent to infrared radiation. When the tip of the probe (12) is pressed into the ring (23) from above the second film (22), the probe (12) is covered while the second film (22) is folded back. The fitting on of the cover is completed when the ring (23) fits into an annular groove (12a) of the probe (12).

摘要： An upper portion of a case body (1) of a radiant-temperature clinical thermometer is integrally formed to include a supporting frame (11) to which a supporting cylinder (2) is secured horizontally. The tip of the supporting cylinder (2) projects outwardly and a radiant-temperature sensor (3) for sensing heat rays from the external ear is secured to the end face of the tip. A cylindrical probe (4) is supported on the supporting cylinder (2) so as to be free to slide, and the cylindrical probe (4) is biased by a coil spring (42) in a direction that thrusts the probe outwardly. A flange (41) on the base end of the cylindrical probe (4) abuts against a stopper (12) of the supporting frame (11), whereby the extended position of the cylindrical probe (4) is determined. A cover ( 9 ) is attached to the tip portion of the cylindrical probe (4). When the tip portion of the cylindrical probe (4) is inserted slightly into the orifice of the ear and pressed, the cylindrical probe (4) retracts and a lever (51) of a microswitch (5), which is attached to the supporting frame (11), is pressed by the flange (41) of the cylindrical probe (4). The switch (5) produces an ON signal as a result. The ON signal is applied as a measurement-start trigger signal to a temperature measuring circuit provided within the case body (1). Thus, the timing at which temperature measurement starts is always fixed so as to reduce a variance in measured temperature.

摘要： A reflection plate for a biochemical measuring instrument which is adapted to evaluate a biochemical value by obtaining a reflective property of a reflection surface of the reference reflection plate, obtaining a reflective property of test paper impregnated with biochemical sample and mounted on a test stick, and comparing the two reflective properties, wherein: the reflection surface of the reference reflection plate is depressed from the periphery thereof. Thereby, even though the test stick is required to be placed adjacent to the reflection surface to achieve a uniformity the optical arrangement in obtaining the two reflective properties, the contamination of the reflection surface from the sample can be prevented. Preferably, the reference reflection plate itself may be provided with a depression to defined the reflection surface at the bottom of this depression.

摘要： An electronic clinical thermometer has a probe including a temperature sensor and a heat flux sensor which are controlled to make measurements at specified time intervals. The measured values are used in solving the equation of heat conduction to estimate the temperature of an internal body position. A heater may be included to preheat a body part in order to reduce the time required for measurement. The probe may use two temperature sensors to measure temperatures at two body surface positions through insulating members which are different in thermal conductivity.

摘要： A test sample color comparison device is disclosed which has a casing unit with an insertion slot for inserting a color test sample therein, and a display section for displaying the color test sample adjacent at least one of a plurality of reference color shades, as the reference color shades are successively moved into position adjacent the color test sample by a manipulation wheel. When an operator determines that a reference color shade adjacent the test sample corresponds in color to the color of the test sample, he pushes a switch to cause a readout of stored information corresponding to the reference color shade then adjacent the test sample. Readout of the stored information is based on a bit pattern set by a plurality of converter switches which are turned on and off in different patterns which correspond to the different color shades as the reference color shades are moved into position by the manipulation wheel. An uneven pattern code section moves in association with the manipulatable wheel and actuates the converter switches. A preferred uneven pattern code section is arranged so that all of the converter switches are actuated roughly equally during a full rotation of the manipulatable wheel, and so that only one of the converter switches is switched on or off during incremental movement of the manipulable wheel.
