This includes an acquiring section that monitors access occurrences to each of the sub-tables to acquire a history of access occurrences.     摘要: An embodiment of the invention includes an information management server with a registration unit that registers a status change condition of a database and a notification action so that they are associated with each other. Also, the information management server includes a communication unit that receives an acquisition request for a status change notification via database connection established with respect to a client and a change detection unit that detects a status change satisfying the condition of the acquisition request and invokes the notification action associated therewith. According to aspect of the invention, a notification unit causes the communication unit to send a notification including a result of the notification action via the database connection as a response to the acquisition request, and returns control of the connection to the client.

    摘要: An apparatus, system, and method for creating a database backup schedule in a SAN environment based on a recovery plan. A user provides a desired recovery point objective (RPO) from a system recovery plan and an identifier of a database for back up. The present invention determines a priority (w) for a recent recovery point and determines a number (N) of volumes for storing backup images and a number (n) of database volumes used by the database. The present invention generates a scheduling formula where RPO is divided by the priority (w) of the most recent recovery point raised to the power of the truncated integer value of the ratio of volumes for storing backup images (N) and the number of volumes in use by the database (n) minus a scheduling interval determinant (i). The scheduling formula is used to determine a backup interval and backup assurance points.

    摘要: Various embodiments of a method, system and computer program product backup and recover a database. A database is distributed in a plurality of storage devices. A target designation designating a target database is received. One or more storage devices of the plurality of storage devices, storing at least a portion of the target database, are selected. A quiesce point is established by completing an ongoing transaction for the target database and inhibiting a further transaction. In response to establishing the quiesce point, a backup is generated by collectively copying data on each storage device of the one or more selected storage devices. The backup associated with a quiesce point indication indicating backed up data of the said each storage device of the one or more selected storage devices in accordance with the quiesce point, are recorded.
