    摘要: A liquid crystal display, a method for manufacturing the same, and an apparatus for manufacturing the same are provided. A method includes forming a field-generating electrode on a panel, and forming an inorganic alignment layer on the substrate by using atmospheric pressure plasma. The process using the atmospheric pressure plasma to form the inorganic alignment layer is more simplified by omitting the etch steps of the short point area and the pad areas. Also, alignment layers may be formed on the mother glass with various shapes by using one apparatus.

    摘要: An apparatus for arranging a spacer includes a substrate, a roller, and an adhesion unit. The substrate includes a recessed portion. A spacer, which maintains a cell gap of a display panel and has an adhesive member formed thereon, is received in the recessed portion. The roller corresponds to the spacer. The roller makes contact with an exposed portion of the adhesive member. The adhesion unit provides for an adhesive strength between the exposed portion of the adhesive member and the roller that exceeds an adhesive strength between the received portion of the adhesive member and the recessed portion of the substrate so that the spacer may be printed on the roller. Therefore, a cell gap uniformity of a display device may be improved.

    摘要: In a method of manufacturing a vertical inorganic alignment layer and a liquid crystal display having the vertical inorganic alignment layer, a plasma power is applied to a plasma generating member attached to an outside of a reactor. When a process substrate to which a back-bias voltage and heat are applied is loaded into the reactor, a reaction gas is injected into the reactor. Then, when a frequency of the plasma power is controlled, the vertical inorganic alignment layer having a resistivity of about 1010 ohms-cm to about 1015 ohms-cm and a vertical aligning property is formed on the process substrate. Thus, the liquid crystal display may prevent deterioration of display quality thereof due to an electrostatic field.

The system can adjust the amount of the LC to be dropped based on a real-time feedback on the amount of LC that is currently being dropped. The amount of LC that is being dropped is detected by utilizing a light source and a CCD camera. Because LC is not consumed wastefully and the detection interval is shortened with this system, the amount of LC that is dropped can be controlled more accurately and manufacturing cost is reduced.

The diameter and depth of the groove of the spacer supply substrate and the tilt angle of a sidewall of the groove are controlled to prevent bead spacers from being stacked in two levels.
