    摘要: Disclosed a liquid crystal display device including a backlight device including a white-emitting LED device which emits a white light arising from a color mixture created through a combination of a blue-emitting LED, a red-emitting phosphor and a green-emitting phosphor, and a color filter equipping color pixels exhibiting plural colors including a red pixel and formed on a transparent substrate, wherein the white-emitting LED device is enabled to exhibit an emission spectrum having a first peak wavelength falling within a range of 440-470 nm, a second peak wavelength falling within a range of 510-550 nm and a third peak wavelength falling within a range of 630-670 nm, and a red display chromaticity of the liquid crystal display device is confined within a region bounded by lines connecting four points (0.620, 0.280), (0.620, 0.300), (0.680, 0.315) and (0.680, 0.280) based on an xy chromaticity coordinate system.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a light emitting device which emits light of deep yellowish color with high luminance. The light emitting device of the present invention comprises a light emitting element having a peak emission wavelength shorter than 490 nm, a fluorescent material for wavelength conversion which absorbs light from the light emitting element and emits light of a wavelength longer than that of the light from the light emitting element, and a filter which cuts off a part of a mixed light produced by mixing the light of the light emitting element and the light of the fluorescent material, wherein the light transmitted through the filter has a chromaticity coordinate on the chromaticity diagram according to CIE 1931 plotted in a region defined by a first point (x=0.450, y=0.450), a second point (x=0.250, y=0.650), a third point (x=0.350, y=0.750) and a fourth point (x=0.250, y=0.750) and in the region defined by a closed curve consisting of the monochromatic locus and the purple boundary.

    摘要: A red phosphor with excellent luminescent characteristics, and a light emitting device that uses this phosphor are provided. The phosphor is a nitride phosphor that is activated by europium, and absorbs light from the near ultraviolet range to the blue range to emit red light. The nitride phosphor has the following general formula, MwAlxSiyBzN((2/3)w+x+(4/3)y+z):Eu2+ where M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba. In the general formula, w, x, y and z fall within the following ranges. 0.056≦w≦9, x=1, 0.056≦y≦18, and 0.0005≦z≦0.5 In addition, the mean particle diameter of the nitride phosphor is preferably not less than 2 μm and not more than 15 μm. Additionally, the light emitting device includes a light source with a first light emission spectrum that emits light from the near ultraviolet range to the blue range, and one or more kinds of phosphors that absorb at least part of the first light emission spectrum and thus emit light with a second light emission spectrum. The aforementioned phosphor can be used as the phosphors.
