    摘要: An image forming apparatus forms high precision full color image by correcting the adhesion quantity of an image visualizing agent and a position shift of a visible image while performing printing process. The image forming apparatus includes an intermediate transfer unit; plural photoconductors; plural charging units; plural exposure units; plural developing units; plural first transferring units; and plural second transferring units. The intermediate transfer unit has a correction pattern image formed in a region outside a predetermined maximum document region in a direction perpendicular to the moving direction. A detector in the intermediate transfer unit detects the correction pattern image. A correction controller performs correcting, based on detection results of the detector, setting values of one or more of the charging units, the exposure units, and the developing units when a region corresponding to an interval between the visible images passes a position beneath one of the units.

    摘要: In a two-color image forming apparatus, correction exposure of creating an area having a potential between an image area potential and a white area potential is made for a decided white area on the periphery of the image area. A potential difference between the image area and white area is reduced to attenuate an edge effect, thereby preventing the fringe development. This is accomplished by varying the light amount for the white areas of the intermediate potential areas as a function of the following: surface potentials measured, change in the developing bias voltage and rotating speed of a developing roll, adjustment of the amount of toners by a toner sensor, changing the resistance of a developer, and/or development of raster image processing.

Further, a white portion to produce a reverse electric potential therein at the rear end of an electric potential portion to be developed with toner, relative to a rotating direction of a developing roller, is exposed with a light intensity forming an electric potential between an electric potential developing an image with toner and the intermediate electric potential, and portions at the front end and the sides are exposed with a light intensity forming the intermediate electric potential.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearer to bear a black toner pattern formed with a black toner image under an increased exposure amount and an increased developing bias. A first optical sensor detects an amount of reflection light reflected by the black toner pattern on the image bearer. The first optical sensor includes a light-emitting element to emit light toward the black toner pattern on the image bearer and a light-receiving element to receive the reflection light reflected by the black toner pattern on the image bearer. A toner adhesion amount converter converts the amount of the reflection light detected by the first optical sensor into a toner adhesion amount of toner adhered to the image bearer and adjusts an image density according to the toner adhesion amount.
