摘要: Apparatus for fusing cells, wherein the fusion chamber is provided with a pair of spaced electrodes whose opposite surfaces have such a vertical dimension as to prevent any nonuniform electric field from adversely affecting fusion of cells. The electrodes may comprise a pair of parallel plate electrodes or cocentrically arranged hollow cylindrical electrodes the outer one of which has an inner circumferential surface of a first radius while the inner electrode has an outer circumferential surface of a second radius smaller than the first radius, the difference between the first and second radii being sufficiently small as compared with the whole length of the radii.

A radar (50) is provided with an antenna unit (51) including a radio wave lens antenna device, which has a spherical transmission radio wave lens (2), a spherical reception radio wave lens (3), a primary radiator (4) arranged at a focal point of the radio wave lens (2), and a primary radiator (5) arranged at a focal point of the radio wave lens (3). The primary radiators (4, 5) pivot in an elevation direction about an axis connecting center points of the radio wave lenses (2, 3) and pivot in an azimuthal direction about an axis orthogonal to the axis connecting the center points of the radio wave lenses (2, 3).

The multi-beam antenna comprises primary feeds 3 each of which is composed of a waveguide having an opening at the end and a dielectric body 6 disposed at the end, a hemispherical Luneberg radio wave lens, and a reflective plate attached to the circular opening of the hemispherical radio wave lens and adapted for reflecting a radio wave incoming from the sky or emitted toward a target. The waveguides are preferably rectangular waveguides 4 rather than circular waveguides 5. The dielectric bodies 6 are preferably tapered.

摘要: A groove is provided on the side of a metallic structure opposite to the side thereof which is exposed to a corrosive atmosphere, and the groove is subjected to build-up welding while cooling with a liquid coolant, whereby any stress corrosion cracking which otherwise occurs on the side of the structure to be exposed to the corrosive atmosphere can be prevented. Especially, this method of manufacture is appropriate for the repair welding of a butt-welded pipe of austenite type stainless steel, and it is effective to perfectly prevent the stress corrosion cracking of the pipe prone to be caused by reactor water during use in a nuclear reactor.

摘要: A method for cooling a weld in steel piping during butt welding with cooling of the inside comprises, after joining of pipe ends by a root pass on the inside, cooling the junction being welded by subsequent passes with injection of a liquid medium at room temperature from the center of the pipe against the surrounding wall, in a direction between radial and tangential directions relative to the inner pipe surface. An apparatus for practicing the cooling method comprises a rotatable multi-nozzle assembly having a radius of rotation corresponding to the inside diameter of the pipe and is capable of injecting the cooling medium against the inner surface of the pipe, a duct for conducting the cooling medium to the nozzles, and a pumping device for forcing the cooling medium under pressure into the nozzles.
