    摘要: A plasma display panel demonstrating excellent image display performance by suppressing generation of initialization bright points through modification of the phosphor layer, and by eliminating variation in discharge characteristics between the discharge cells of each color. In addition to solving these problems, the luminance of the plasma display panel is also enhanced by using the ultraviolet rays emitted in the discharge space in order to promote the production of visible light on the front panel side. Specifically, the phosphor layer (14) is composed of a phosphor component and of MgO powder (16) disposed principally inside the phosphor layer and exposed towards the surface (140) facing the discharge space in order to impart secondary electron emission characteristics. The MgO powder (16) is composed of MgO particles (16a-16d) having a crystal structure with two specific crystal faces consisting of the (100) crystal face and the (111) crystal face, or three specific crystal faces consisting of the (100) crystal face, the (110) crystal face, and the (111) crystal face.

    摘要: A plasma display panel includes a front plate, a rear plate, and a bonding layer to bond the front plate to the rear plate. The front plate has a protective layer. The rear plate has a barrier rib. The protective layer includes a base layer. Aggregated particles are dispersed all over the base layer. The base layer contains a first metal oxide and a second metal oxide. Through an X-ray diffraction analysis, a peak of the base layer exists between a first peak of the first metal oxide, and a second peak of the second metal oxide. The first metal oxide and the second metal oxide are two kinds of oxides selected from a group consisting of MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO. The rear plate has a barrier rib. The bonding layer bonds at least one part of the barrier rib to the protective layer.

    摘要: The present invention aims to improve efficiency of a PDP by providing a material suitable for improving a secondary electron emission coefficient of the PDP. In order to achieve the aim, in a PDP 200, an electron emission layer 20 is formed by dispersing electron emissive particles including a crystalline compound on a protective layer 7 made of MgO. The crystalline compound is, for example, CaSnO3, SrSnO3, BaSnO3, or a solid solution of two or more of them (e.g. (Ca, Sr)SnO3 and (Sr, Ba)SnO3).

A protective layer 114 is provided in a partial region (a front panel 11 side) facing the inner space 13, and a phosphor layer 124 is provided in a counter region (a back panel 12 side) which holds the discharge space 13. The discharge gas is set at a total pressure of not less than 1.50×104 [Pa] and not more than 6.66×104 [Pa], and comprises an Xe gas as a first gas component and an Ar gas as a second gas component and is free from an Ne gas, provided that the Ne gas may be contained in the discharge gas at a partial pressure ratio of not more than 0.5[%] based on the total pressure.

    摘要: In a panel unit of a PDP apparatus, a discharge space is filled with a discharge gas containing a xenon gas as a principal component and a neon gas at a total pressure in a range of 1×104 [Pa]-5×104 [Pa], inclusive. Since the discharge gas is a xenon-neon binary gas mixture, when a partial pressure ratio of the neon gas to the total pressure ratio of the discharge gas is set at 8[%] or below, the rest of the discharge gas is the xenon gas, the principal component. In summary, the PDP apparatus of the present invention can attain high luminous efficiency with use of the high xenon gas content, and suppress erosion of a protective layer as a result of sputtering caused by a discharge during driving with use of the neon gas whose partial pressure ratio is 8[%] or below.

    摘要: A PDP capable of lowering a discharge initiating voltage with a weak discharge always stabilized during an initialization period even if a Xe partial pressure ratio to a total pressure in discharge gas is increased, improving an image quality with the occurrence of an initializing bright point prevented, preventing the lowering of a light emission efficiency and brightness, and improving brightness; and a production method for simply producing the PDP. The PDP comprises a front panel and a rear panel disposed facing each other with a discharge space provided between them. A fluorescent layer is formed in the area on the discharge space side of the rear panel, and a fluorescent film as a high γ portion is formed in part of the area of its surface. The fluorescent film is formed of a material higher in secondary electron emission coefficient γ than a fluorescent material constituting the fluorescent layer. Part of the surface of the fluorescent layer is covered with the fluorescent film, with the other part facing the discharge space.

    摘要: Provided is a PDP in which a weak discharge is always generated in a stable manner to lower the firing voltage, the generation of the reset luminous points is restricted to improve the image quality, and reduction of the luminous efficiency and reduction of the luminance are restricted to improve the luminance. A manufacturing method of the PDP is also provided.The PDP includes a front panel and a back panel arranged to face each other with a discharge space between the panels. A phosphor layer is provided in an area of the back panel that faces toward the discharge space. Part of the surface of the phosphor layer is covered with a phosphor-coating film as a high γ member. The phosphor-coating film is made of a material having a higher secondary electron emission coefficient than a material of the phosphor layer. The high γ member and the remaining are of the surface of the phosphor layer are exposed to the discharge space.
