    摘要: A valve timing control system for an internal combustion engine, comprising a required advance amount calculating section for calculating a required advance amount on the basis of operating condition of the engine, a valve timing control section for calculating a valve timing control variable on the basis of an obtained advance amount and the required advance amount calculated by the required advance amount calculating section, and a time period measuring section for measuring an elapsed time after the start of the engine. The required advance amount calculating section makes a calculation so that the required advance amount assumes a value smaller than that in an normal state until the time period measuring section measures a predetermined period of time. Hence, exhaust gas clarification immediately after the engine start, fuel consumption and drivability can be improved.

    摘要: A valve timing control system comprises a learning means for learning the phase difference between the crank angle and the cam angle at a position where the variable valve timing means is stopped mechanically and a valve timing control variable calculating means for calculating a valve timing control variable, for driving the variable valve timing means, on the basis of a deviation between the phase difference value learned by the learning means and the phase difference calculated by the advance amount calculating means. The learning means learns the phase difference between the crank angle and the cam angle at the mechanically stopped position when the internal combustion engine is not idling. Thus, errors resulting from the operating force of a cam shaft are not included in the maximum retardation value, which ensures precise learning of the maximum retardation value and high-precision valve timing control.

    摘要: An engine controlling apparatus is provided in which a stable limp-home drive is possible even if an open breakdown of a throttle valve occurs. The apparatus includes a throttle breakdown detecting unit S1 for detecting the breakdown in a throttle controlling system including the throttle valve and a throttle opening degree sensor, a throttle power source interrupting unit S2 for interrupting a power source supply to a throttle actuator in the case where the breakdown in the throttle controlling system is detected, and a predetermined operational condition detecting unit S3 for detecting a shift of the operational condition to a predetermined operational condition corresponding to a fully closed condition of the throttle valve in operation of the throttle power source interrupting unit. A bypass controlling unit S4 opens the bypass valve to feed the air to the engine at the time when the predetermined operational condition is detected in operation of the throttle power source interrupting unit.
