    Abstract: In a method for point cloud prediction processing, an alternative point set of a target point cloud group is obtained from M point cloud groups. The M point cloud groups include the target point cloud group. Coordinate code words of point cloud points in each of the M point cloud groups are identical after shifting by a grouping shift bit number corresponding to the respective point cloud group. Prediction reference points associated with a target point cloud point of the point cloud points in the target point cloud group are obtained from the alternative point set. The target point cloud point is predicted by processing circuitry based on the prediction reference points, to obtain a target predicted attribute value of the target point cloud point.

    Abstract: In the field of computer vision, a decoding method, an encoding method, a decoder, and an encoder based on point cloud attribute prediction are provided. The decoding method includes: parsing a code stream of a point cloud to obtain reconstructed information of position information of a target point; selecting candidate points of the target point from decoded points in the point cloud; selecting neighbor points from the candidate points based on the reconstructed information of the position information of the target point; determining a predicted value of attribute information of the target point by using attribute values of the neighbor points; and obtaining a decoded point cloud based on the predicted value of the attribute information of the target point. Neighbor points with attributes similar to that of a target point are selected where possible to predict attribute information of the target point, thereby reducing the prediction complexity.

    Abstract: A point cloud decoding method is provided. In the method, a target point cloud group of a plurality of point cloud groups is obtained.
