    摘要: Wear of tuyeres for refining a molten iron is prevented by blowing a CO-containing gas having the defined flow amount, oxygen gas flow amount and CO gas concentration as a shrouding gas which surrounds a core refining gas flow containing oxygen gas through tuyeres of concentric pipes. As the shrouding gas for cooling and protecting the tuyeres, use may be made of an exhaust gas discharged and recovered from a converter or a blast furnace by controlling the concentrations of CO and N.sub.2 in the exhaust gas to the specific limitations.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for continuous casting steel. A vertical continuous-casting mold consists of a pair of long side frames and a pair of short side frames formed of a metal having low electrical conductivity. An immersion nozzle supplies molten steel to the mold. An induction heating coil surrounded by a backup frame surrounds the vertical continuous-casting mold. The induction heating coil induction-heats the surface of the molten steel and neighboring portions thereof.     摘要: A process for separating carbon monoxide from a feed gas comprising CO.sub.2, CO and less adsorbable component than CO through PSA by using at least two adsorption columns in two stage adsorption operation which comprises a first adsorption stage for removing CO.sub.2 from said feed gas and a second adsorption stage for separating CO from gaseous mixture withdrawn from the first adsorption stage:(1) the first adsorption stage comprising a pressure swing adsorption repeating adsorption and desorption, and(2) the second adsorption stage comprising:(i) pressurization by the first stage product gas,(ii) adsorption,(iii) depressurization,(iv) purge by product gas,(v) evacuation for recovering product gas, and(vi) pressurization by gas withdrawn in other column,periodically switching the flow between or among said columns so as to repeat the above steps in the columns, and a process for separating carbon monoxide from a feed gas comprising carbon monoxide and less adsorbable component than CO through pressure swing adsorption by using at least two adsorption columns containing an adsorbent exhibiting selective adsorb property to carbon monoxide which comprises:(i) pressurization by feed gas,(ii) adsorption,(iii) depressurization,(iv) purge by product gas,(v) evacuation for recovering product gas, and(vi) pressurization by gas withdrawn in other column,periodically switching the flow between or among said columns so as to repeat the above steps in the columns are disclosed.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method of refining of a high purity steel capable of effectively lowering impurities in molten steel into respective ultra-low ranges. In secondary refining for molten steel after a molten iron prerefining process and a converting process, a reducing agent and a flux are added on the bath surface within a ladle containing the molten steel decarburized in a converter so that the composition of slag on the bath surface is adjusted in such a manner that the total concentration of FeO and MnO becomes 5 wt % or less, and subsequently, impurities in the molten steel are effectively lowered into respective ultra-low ranges using a RH vacuum degassing unit.
