摘要: A magnetic storage apparatus includes a substantially non-flexible magnetic recording medium, a magnetic head slider having a reading/writing element mounted therein and liquid lubricant provided on the surface of the magnetic recording medium. The liquid lubricant is a liquid in a Newtonian range having a viscosity which is substantially constant irrespective of a shear rate or a liquid having the property that the actual viscosity is increased with increase of the shear rate. The magnetic head slider maintains a gap between the slider and the magnetic recording medium to perform reading and writing while being moved on the liquid lubricant intermittently or continuously in a contact manner with the liquid lubricant. There is provided a device for maintaining a constant flying height even if a movement speed is varied, which flying height is represented by the size of the gap. Thus, the magnetic storage apparatus of the liquid bearing system or the contact system has only very small forces such as liquid drag force and friction force or sticking force and is capable of performing stable slider movement, performing high-speed seeking operation with high reliability and performing high-density recording.

摘要: The present invention is aimed at providing a magnetic disk and a magnetic disk apparatus both of which have a high performance lubricating film which makes continuous sliding endurance and low adhesiveness compatible, and a lubricating film having a self repairing function which makes it possible to recombine scratched off lubricating agent from the magnetic disk surface by sliding with a head onto the magnetic disk surface. The lubricating film comprises at least two kinds of lubricating agents each of which forms an individual layer, the layers being laminated. An adhesion enhancing layer is formed between a magnetic film and a lubricating agent at the surface of the magnetic disk, and the adhesion enhancing layer is fixed onto the magnetic film surface. Then, the adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent are combined. The adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent form a salt or complex body, and the lubricating agent can repeat adsorption and desorption with the adhesion enhancing layer reversely by a thermal reaction.

摘要: A lubricating film is provided for a magnetic disk having a data region and a CSS region formed on its surface. The lubricating film ensures low stiction and good resistance to contact sliding in the data region and also ensures good CSS durability in the CSS region. Therefore, it is possible to provide a magnetic disk and a magnetic recording/reproducing device which do not cause problems with sliding between the magnetic head and the magnetic disk while the apparatus is running normally and even when the apparatus stops accidentally. The lubricating film formed in the data region of the magnetic disk is firmly fixed to the surface of the magnetic disk and is hardly liable to stiction. In addition, it is thick enough to ensure good durability even in the case of contact sliding. The lubricating film formed in the CSS region is composed of a lubricant which is firmly fixed to the surface of the magnetic disk and another lubricant which is weakly fixed to the surface of the magnetic disk; therefore, it is superior in CSS durability. This contributes to the highly reliable magnetic disk and magnetic recording/reproducing device.

摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic substrate and a magnetic layer and a protective layer which are formed on the non-magnetic substrate in that order, wherein a substance(s) as a single component or a plurality of components, which constitute a liquid continuously supplied to the surface of said protective layer, are adsorbed on or react with the surface of said protective layer to form a lubricating film having low frictional properties and low wearing-out properties. The present invention can realize negligible friction and wear resistance even in severe sliding at a very slightly kept-off or completely contacted state by continuous supply of a liquid lubricant prepared by adding a fluoro compound and an extreme pressure agent or an oiliness agent to a solvent to the surface of a disc, and can provide a magnetic recording reproducer having excellent sliding-resistant characteristics.

摘要: A liquid film applicator means can apply a photosensitive lyophobic film 18 to a substrate 16. An exposure unit 10 is placed on the back side of the substrate and forms the lyophobic film applied on the substrate into a pattern in alignment with gate electrodes 13. A dropping unit 55 drops a test liquid to a surface of the substrate having a pattern of the lyophobic film formed by the exposure means. A measuring means 58 detects the droplet dropped by the dropping unit. A determining means determines whether the pattern of the lyophobic film formed by the exposure means is proper or not based on the droplet detected by the detecting means.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a semiconductor device such as a display device, ID tag, sensor or the like at low cost by using a bottom contact type organic TFT as a switching element. In the present invention, the semiconductor layer of the bottom contact type organic TFT is formed of a polycrystalline material, and the taper width of each of the source and drain electrodes of the TFT in the direction of the channel length is smaller than the average particle size of semiconductor crystals grown on the source and drain electrodes. Alternatively, the side on the channel side of each of the source and drain electrodes of the bottom contact type organic TFT is formed so as to be convex upward with respect to the substrate surface. Alternatively, an organic compound layer different from the semiconductor layer of the bottom contact type organic TFT is made present between each of the source and drain electrodes of the bottom contact type organic TFT and said semiconductor layer, in a thickness of not more than 10 Å and not less than 1 Å.
