Abstract: A method for controlling a fan of a dehumidifier includes performing a first step of obtaining an ambient temperature, an exhaust temperature, and a delta temperature that is a difference between the ambient temperature and the exhaust temperature. The method further include determining, after performing the first step, whether the delta temperature is within a delta temperature range. If the delta temperature is within the delta temperature range, the method proceeds back to the first step. If the delta temperature is not within the delta temperature range, the method performs a second step of determining an adjusted fan speed using the delta temperature. The method further includes performing, after performing the second step, a third step of setting the fan speed to the determined adjusted fan speed.

Abstract: A dehumidification system includes an evaporator, a condenser positioned proximate to the evaporator, and a drain pan. The drain pan is disposed at least partially below the evaporator and the condenser. The drain pan includes a top piece and a bottom piece disposed at least partially below the top piece. The top piece includes a drainage opening, and is configured to collect water condensed from the evaporator and drain the condensed water to the bottom piece via the drainage opening. The bottom piece includes an enclosed wall, and the condensed water drained from the top piece is directed into an area of the bottom piece that is at least partially surrounded by the enclosed wall.

The cabinet includes an airflow inlet, an airflow outlet, and at least two wheels. The evaporator is located adjacent to the airflow inlet. The condenser is located adjacent to the evaporator and on a side of the evaporator opposite the airflow inlet. The drain pan is located at least partially below the evaporator and the condenser. The support legs extend from a bottom side of the drain pan towards the bottom side of the cabinet. The compressor is located below the drain pan. The fan is located adjacent to the condenser and on a side of the condenser opposite the evaporator.

Abstract: A portable dehumidifier includes multiple microchannel condenser coils, a fan, a water reservoir, and a bracket. The fan is located adjacent to an airflow outlet and is configured to generate an airflow that flows into the portable dehumidifier through an airflow inlet and out of the portable dehumidifier through the airflow outlet. The airflow flows through an evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condenser coils in order to provide dehumidification to the airflow. The water reservoir is located at least partially below the evaporator and is configured to store water removed from the airflow. The water reservoir includes a top that is at least partially open to capture water falling from the evaporator. The bracket is coupled to a compressor and covers a portion of the open top of the water reservoir in order to prevent the water from spilling when the portable dehumidifier is tilted at an angle.

Abstract: A portable dehumidifier includes a plurality of recesses along a top edge of the portable dehumidifier and a plurality of protrusions along a bottom edge of the portable dehumidifier. The plurality of recesses permit a second portable dehumidifier to stack on top of the portable dehumidifier, and the plurality of protrusions permit the portable dehumidifier to stack on top of the second portable dehumidifier. The portable dehumidifier also includes a plurality of microchannel condenser coils and a fan located adjacent to the airflow outlet, the fan is configured to generate an airflow that flows into the portable dehumidifier through an airflow inlet and out of the portable dehumidifier through the airflow outlet, the airflow flowing through an evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condenser coils in order to provide dehumidification to the airflow.

Abstract: A method of controlling an in-wall dehumidifier is disclosed. The method includes setting the dehumidifier to a defrost mode if the dehumidifier has been operating in a dehumidifying mode for less than a predetermined amount of time and a measured evaporator coil temperature is less than a first evaporator coil temperature set point. The method further includes setting the dehumidifier to the defrost mode if the dehumidifier has been operating in the dehumidifying mode for equal to or greater than the predetermined amount of time and a measured evaporator coil temperature is less than a second evaporator coil temperature set point that is higher than the first evaporator coil temperature set point.

Abstract: A dehumidifier includes an evaporator, a condenser, a fan, and a processor. In response to determining that a measured relative humidity is greater than or equal to a relative humidity set point, the processor sets the dehumidifier to a first operating mode, wherein a compressor is enabled and the fan is set to a first fan speed while in the first operating mode. The processor further determines whether the dehumidifier has been operating in the first operating mode for a predetermined amount of time, and in response, sets the dehumidifier to a second operating mode if the measured relative humidity is still greater than the relative humidity set point, wherein the compressor is enabled and the fan is set to a second fan speed while in the second operating mode. The second fan speed is greater than the first fan speed.
