摘要： A door is locked in the closed position by a system of five bolts which can be simultaneously operated from either side of the door by a handle or key operator. Both the handle and key operator are common to all of the bolts in the system and are connected through a rotary camming device with a linkage including parts drivingly connected with the bolts. A lost motion connection is provided between the key operator and rotary camming device to enable complete rotation and withdrawal of the key. The linkage and bolts are protectively enclosed inside of tough conduits and linkage access housings. A safety bolt immobilizing device is provided on the door adjacent to one bolt of the locking system to block the extension of the bolts while the door is open and this device moves automatically to a bolt release position when the door is closed. The locking system can be placed in a residential door or may be installed on a commercial door.

摘要： A plywood product utilizing a core panel produced from plywood strips salvaged from edge trim produced by conventional trimming operations during plywood production. The trim strips, having parallel side edges, are laid up side by side and edge glued to produce a flat core panel. Outer layers of veneer are glued at each side of the core panel to produce a resulting thick plywood structure suitable for building purposes. The method comprises the production of the strips, the composing of the strips into panels, and the final step of gluing veneers at each face of the core panel to produce a plywood product of greater thickness than most conventional plywood.

摘要： A powered pruning saw is disclosed in which a drive motor is connected to an elongated drive shaft rotatably held within an shaft or pole. A gear head is mounted at the other end of the pole to the remote end of the drive shaft. The gear head includes a gear housing formed of two housing halves, with a pinion rotatably mounted by a pinion bearing within the gear housing for coaxial rotation with the drive shaft. The pinion shaft mounts the pinion at one end and a drive shaft receiver at a remaining end for releasably receiving an end of the drive shaft. A cutter arbor shaft is also rotatably mounted in the gear head, and mounts a gear in meshing engagement with the pinion. A cutter arbor shaft bearing mounts the cutter arbor shaft and gear for rotation about a cutter arbor shaft axis that is angularly offset from the drive shaft axis. A cutter is releasably attached to the cutter arbor shaft. The gear housing halves are joined along a plane normal to the cutter arbor shaft axis and include journal boxes formed therein for receiving and clamping the pinion bearing. Clamp members join and fasten the housing halves together with clamping forces substantially parallel to the arbor shaft axis. Also disclosed are apparatus for installing sleeves over selected lengths of the shaft or pole by selectively expanding the sleeves and providing low friction surfaces over which the sleeves may be slid. Also disclosed is an apparatus for dispensing a measured quantity of fluid lubricant to the cutter by tipping the saw.

摘要： An x-ray film cassette is provided which is formed in two mating pieces that snap together to form a sealed cassette. The pieces are formed of a soft, flexible material such as rubber or plastic and can be sterilized. An inside surface of the two pieces is coated with an exposure reduction material and an x-ray negative film is carried in the sealed cassette. The cassette can be opened and closed without the use of tools, and, due to its flexible nature can be used to obtain x-ray pictures of internal body organs during surgery.
