R″, R′″, R and R1 are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms. X is selected from the group consisting of alkylene, arylalkylene, and alkylarylene, wherein alkylene, arylalkylene, and alkylarylene are each optionally interrupted by at least one ether linkage. Y is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, trialkylsilyl, and a counter cation. Methods of treating a surface using these compositions and articles with a surface in contact with these compositions are provided. Methods of making these compositions are also provided.

    摘要: Fluorochemical urethane compounds and coating compositions derived therefrom are described. The compounds and composition may be used in treating substrates, in particular substrates having a hard surface such as ceramics or glass, to render them water, oil, stain, and/or dirt repellent. The compounds have the formula (Rf)xR1—(R2)y]z wherein Rf is a fluorine-containing group, R1 is the residue of a polyisocyanate. R2 is of the formula —NH—CO—X1—R3(CH2CH2—S—R5—Si(Y)p(R)3p)q wherein X1 is —O— or —NR4—, where R4 is H or C1-C4 alkyl, R3 is a polyvalent alkylene or arylene group, or combinations thereof, said alkylene groups optionally containing one or more catenary oxygen atoms, R5 is a divalent alkylene group, said alkylene group optionally containing one or more catenary oxygen atoms, Y is a hydrolysable group, R6 is a monovalent alkyl or aryl group, p is 1, 2 or 3, q is 1 to 5, x and y are each independently at least 1, and z is 1 or 2.
