摘要： A method for implementing a truly hitless tunable filter for use in adding and/or dropping channels in a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) network is disclosed. An exemplary method for filtering an optical signal may include providing a composite optical signal having several wavelengths including a first wavelength, a second wavelength and other wavelengths. The method may include passing the first wavelength through a filter and reflecting the second wavelength and the other wavelengths with the filter. The method may include making the first wavelength available to a drop port, and making the second wavelength and the other wavelengths available to an output port.

摘要： A method is provided for distributing quantum cryptographic keys. The method includes receiving a first quantum signal from an initial quantum key generating transmitter. Following correspondence with the initial quantum key generating transmitter, a first quantum key is generated. A second quantum signal is transmitted to a recipient quantum key generating transmitter. Following correspondence with the recipient quantum key generating receiver, a second quantum key is generated. The first quantum key is encoded using the second quantum key. The encoded first quantum key is transmitted to the recipient quantum key generating receiver using the second quantum key.

摘要： A window fastener includes a forced-entry-resistant sash lock and tilt latch assembly. The sash lock is actuated to engage a keeper to lock the closed sash window. The tilt latch assembly permits sliding of the unlocked window, and prevents tilting until the tilt latch assembly is actuated by the interconnected sash lock. The sash lock and tilt latch assembly cooperate with a stop member secured to a master window frame, to limit opening of the window to a position between the closed position and a full open position, through contact of the latch assembly with a portion of the stop member. The sash lock is configured to actuate the latch assembly into a cocked position, permitting window movement beyond the limited position, and selective contact between the latch assembly and stop member that triggers latch assembly repositioning, causing automatic locking of the sash window when moved into the closed position.

摘要： A window vent stop for use in a sliding sash window assembly or a sliding door assembly. The vent stop has a housing adapted to be disposed in a recess in a non-movable sash member. A tumbler has at least one pivot for pivotally securing the tumbler to the housing for movement between an extended position, to prevent movement of a sliding member and a retracted position to allow movement of the sliding member. Also within the housing is a spring for biasing the tumbler. The housing has one or more flexible members extending from the end walls of the housing that secure the housing to an opening in the non-movable sash member.
