Abstract:
A solar collecting apparatus for collecting solar energy in a heat transfer fluid includes an upper header member, a lower header member, and a plurality of collector tubes, each collector tube connected at an upper end thereof to the upper header member and connected at a lower end thereof to the lower header member. The collector tubes are arranged such that axes of the collector tubes form an array wherein no three adjacent axes are on the same plane, typically in a cylindrical or like array.
Abstract:
A water disinfection apparatus includes a chamber adapted for connection to a pressurized water source. An ultra violet light is oriented to shine ultra violet rays into the chamber and to disinfect water therein, and a normally closed output valve connects the chamber to a supply valve. A control senses when a connected supply valve has been opened, and is operative to turn the ultra violet light on when the connected supply valve is opened; open the output valve after the ultra violet light has been turned on; close the output valve off after a supply time period expires; and turn the ultra violet light off when the output valve has been closed. The ultra violet light is turned on at all times that the output valve is open.

Abstract:
A method and portable system is disclosed for treating waste water received at a first location while in-transit to a second location. Waste water received by a portable treatment system is used to treat waste water while stationary at a first location and then the portable waste water system continues to treat the waste water while the portable treatment system is in-transit between the first location and a second location. This allows the transit time of the portable treatment system to be utilized to improve the quality of the waste water in the portable treatment system. Untreated waste water can be received by the system at a first location and during transport the waste water is treated by the portable treatment system, improving the quality of the effluent discharged from the portable treatment system when it arrives at the second location.
Abstract:
A treatment tank for treating waste water or other liquid is provided. The treatment tank has an interior cavity of the treatment tank, a liquid introduction system for introducing a liquid to be treated, into a top end of the treatment tank, an exit aperture for removing liquid from a bottom end of the treatment tank and a plurality of removable layers of filter media. The removable layers of filter media are spaced substantially vertically in the treatment tank between the top end of the treatment tank and the bottom end of the treatment tank. Each layer of filter media has a permeable sheet adjacent a bottom surface of the layer of filter media, the permeable sheet allowing liquid to pass through the permeable sheet but preventing filter media in the layer of filter media from passing through the permeable sheet.
