Abstract: 1,074,594. Reciprocating pumps. LANVINCHARLES OF THE RITZ, Inc. June 16, 1964 [June 21, 1963], No.24929/64. Heading F1A. A pump mounted on a cap 11a for attachment to a container by partial screw threads 14a has a cylinder 22a provided with a venting opening 36a. The opening 36a is uncovered by the flared lower end of piston tube 13a when the piston assembly is depressed, air passing to the opening between a bush 21a and the tube 13a. Rubber sealing sleeve 63 allows air to pass into the container on which the pump is mounted, lip 68 moving away from the wall of the cylinder 22a, but prevents liquid within the container from escaping through the opening 36a. In a further embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the bucket valve is a spring biased ball.
