摘要： A corrosion protecting film layer is formed on a non-passivating non-noble metal, such as cobalt, by placing the metal in a dilute solution of Cu.sup.+2 ions and benzotriazole (1 H-BTA). Exposure of the metal to a solution containing Cu.sup.+2 and 1 H-BTA results in a spontaneous interaction of Cu.sup.+2 and the metal to produce a film layer of Cu(I) BTA on the metal surface to create a permanent corrosion protection for the metal. A borate buffer, such as boric acid and a borate, can be added to the solution to adjust the pH of the solution to be in the range between 8 and 9.

In some aspects of the present disclosure, analyte test strip container systems, and methods of making the same, are provided. The analyte test strip container systems include a container and insert that situates within the container to provide a cavity floor that varies in height.

A shape memory element is used to actuate the pump and an intelligent system controls the actuator in order to minimize stresses within the system and provide accurate and reliable dosage delivery. The control system utilizes various types of feedback to monitor and optimize the position of the pumping mechanisms. Physical design aspects also minimize stress and the combination of the physical design aspects and the intelligent operation of the system results in a lightweight and cost effective pump that may be used in a disposable fashion if desired.

One such component is a movable member, such as a miniature precision reciprocating displacement pump head, which is driven by an actuator that comprises a shape memory alloy material. The operating mechanism of the system is of little or minimal complexity. The system facilitates the precise metering and delivery of the small discrete volumes of liquid. Potential applications for the system include subcutaneous, long-term, automated drug delivery, for example, the delivery of insulin to a person with diabetes. In such an application, the small, simple and inexpensive nature of the invention would allow for its use as both a portable and a disposable system.
