摘要: Ink-parser-parameter optimization may be performed via parallel processing to accelerate searching for a set of optimal ink-parser parameters. Evaluators may parse pages of ink notes with different groups of parameters and may compute corresponding values for evaluation functions. Separate evaluation functions may be defined for the following types of ink-parker parsing engines: writing parser, writing/drawing classification, table detection, and list detection. A searcher may perform a grid-searching algorithm or a genetic algorithm to generate groups of parameters and may then pass the parameters to available evaluators for evaluation until evaluation-function values for a group of parameters satisfy a convergence condition.

摘要: Computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions distinguish the script type of at least one portion of a writing input. At least one sub-word of a writing line of a handwritten document is identified and is processed to determine the associated writing style that includes a cursive writing style and a hand-printed writing style. The writing line is consequently associated with a script type. The script type of a writing line is determined from the script types of the sub-words in the writing line. When the number of sub-words having a first script type is greater than the number of sub-words having a second script type, the script type of the writing line is categorized as the first script type. In addition, a script analyzer determines a writing style of at least one sub-word and selects one of a plurality of neural networks to categorize the script type of a writing line.

摘要: A mechanism for recognizing and inputting handwritten mathematical expressions into a computer by providing part of a multi-path framework is described. The part of the multi-path framework includes a subscript/superscript analysis and character determination component that is designed to identify subscript and superscript elements. A method for analyzing a handwritten mathematical expression includes receiving a symbols corresponding to handwritten mathematical expression input strokes, identifying subscript and/or superscript structures, and determining a character for each symbol of the set. A graph of vertexes and edges may be created based upon the set of symbols and the graph may be searched to determine optimized candidates.

摘要: A system and method for detection of a list in ink input is provided. A detector is provided that may detect a list such as a bulleted or numbered list of items in ink input. A group of lines may first be selected as a candidate list. Indentation level clustering and bullet detection may then be performed to determine the structure of the list. Bullet detection may be performed by detecting bullet partners, which are pairs of lines at the same indentation level that may begin with bullet candidates with similar features. The features of the bullet candidates in a pair of lines may be used to determine the likelihood of whether the pair of lines may be bullet partners. Finally, the structure of the list may be determined, including the relationship among the list items.

摘要: Methods and systems for converting text into natural personal handwriting are provided. One aspect relates to the training of a computer to recognize a user's handwriting style. In one embodiment, the computer receives handwriting samples of at least one character written by the user, such as the character being provided as the beginning, middle, or ending character among a plurality of other characters. Further embodiments allow for increased personalization of the handwriting. Another aspect relates to system and methods for displaying a representation of a computer user's handwriting. In one embodiment, the handwriting comprises variant shapes of letters, personalized connection style between letters, and connection parts that look pressure-sensitive. In another embodiment, characters are adjusted, such as cutting portions of the character to create a more realistic recreation and synthesis of the handwriting.

摘要: In accordance with embodiments of the invention, local metadata is embedded into an embedded interactive code document by combining a first m-array and a second m-array to generate a combined m-array with encoded local metadata such that a start position of the second m-array in the combined m-array is shifted, by an amount that is based on the local metadata, relative to a start position of the first m-array in the combined m-array. The first m-array and the second m-array may contain the same repeating bit sequence. Local metadata may be decoded from the embedded interactive code document by decoding the local metadata from the combined m-array by determining the amount by which the second m-array is shifted, relative to the first m-array, in the combined m-array.
