    摘要: Passive RFID devices are disclosed that perform image recognition. The device includes an antenna, circuitry, and a camera. The antenna receives a radio frequency (RF) signal from a RFID reader. The circuitry stores image data for objects that is used for image recognition. To operate, the circuitry derives power from the RF signal. With the power derived from the RF signal, the camera captures an image. The circuitry then identifies an object in the captured image based on the image data for the objects, and outputs information for the identified object, such as to the RFID reader.

    摘要: A system and method for applying a pre-existing physical seal authorization to documents provides for authentication of electronic documents using physical seals and without interrupting the electronic workflow. The system of the present invention includes a seal capture device coupled to a computer, and the computer coupled by a network to a paper-like document server. The seal capture device detects depression of a seal thereon and outputs the image of the seal and other metadata to the computer. The computer stores the metadata in its local log using a logging module. The computer also adds the image of the seal and other metadata to the electronic document being displayed. Finally, the computer sends the metadata for storage in the global log of the paper-like document server, and the authorized document to the next step in the electronic workflow. The paper-like document server stores the metadata in other servers or entangles the global log with the logs of other servers for additional security.

    摘要: Techniques for tracking the motion of an RFID tag using signal strength information. A single antenna of an RFID reader may be used to take a sequence of readings from an RFID tag in motion. A signal strength indicator (e.g., received signal strength indicator (RSSI)) is determined for each reading. The sequence of RSSIs is then used to estimate a path of motion of the RFID tag and the direction of motion of the RFID tag along the path.

    摘要: A system and method for information retrieval comprises a computing device with a client and a progressive feature server coupled by a network. The client includes a feature extraction module, a progressive sending module, a sampling module and a feedback receiver. The progressive sending module divides the features into groups and sends them to the server. The progressive sending module is also responsive to commands from the feedback receiver to terminate the transmission of additional features if a match is found. The progressive feature server is coupled for communication with the client and includes a progressive receiving module, a feedback generator, an image recognizer and a result delivery module. The image recognizer progressively processes the groups of extracted features received from the client and provides results and hints for improved recognition. The present invention also includes methods for processing captured information progressively, sending extracted features in groups, and progressively performing image recognition for improved recognition speed.
