    摘要: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine capable of optimizing a control parameter for the engine on the basis of information concerning combustion state of the engine by making use of a detected ion current which changes with a high sensitivity in dependence on combustion state within an engine cylinder, for thereby realizing an engine operation control to reduce fuel cost without degrading a control performance for obtaining a high engine output and drivability of a motor vehicle equipped with the engine. The apparatus includes an ion current detecting means (12) for detecting an amount of ions generated within an engine cylinder under control in terms of an ion current (i) immediately after ignition for the engine cylinder, a decision-destined value detecting means (2) for determining a decision-destined value corresponding to a combustion state of the engine cylinder on the basis of a detected value (Ei) of the ion current, and a correction control means (2) for correcting a control parameter for controlling operation of the internal combustion engine when result of comparison of the decision-destined value with a reference value therefor indicates at least one of lowering in output power of the internal combustion engine and degradation in the combustion state in the engine cylinder.

    摘要: A combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine capable of detecting combustion state in the engine with high accuracy and reliability by deriving an ion current detection signal which is based on only an ion current by canceling out a leakage current component. The apparatus includes a high-voltage diode (11a, . . . , 11d) connected to a spark plug (8a, . . . , 8d), a bias voltage applying circuit (9) for applying a bias voltage (VBi) to the spark plug by way of the high-voltage diode, an ion current detecting circuit (12) for detecting an ion current (i) flowing through the spark plug immediately after ignition to thereby output an ion current detection signal (Ei), an electronic control unit (2) for determining combustion state of the engine on the basis of the ion current detection signal (Ei), and a leakage current compensating means (21, 22) connected in parallel with the ion current detecting means (12). The leakage current compensating means supplies a compensating current (ic) for canceling out a leakage current component (iL) flowing along a same path as the ion current (i). The ion current detecting means outputs as the ion current detection signal only an ion current signal component (io) from which the leakage current has been eliminated.

    摘要: A combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal-combustion engine improves the signal-to-noise ratio of an ionic pulse signal to achieve good interfacing characteristic, high detection accuracy, and high control reliability without adding to cost. An electronic control unit (2A) which detects the combustion state in a spark plug according to an ionic pulse signal (Gi) includes: an edge detecting circuit (36) for detecting an end edge of an ionic pulse contained in the ionic pulse signal in a detection zone from a second reference crank angle to a first reference crank angle; a level detecting circuit (37) for detecting the level of the ionic pulse signal at the first reference crank angle; and a circuit (38) for determining the combustion state of the internal-combustion engine according to a detection result (Ni) received from the edge detecting circuit and a detection result (Li) received from the level detecting circuit. Thus, an ionic current detection signal can be pulsed using a simple circuit configuration, and the simple determining logic is used to reduce the load on the arithmetic processor of the electronic control unit.

    摘要: An combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal-combustion engine is provided for preventing control errors and detection errors by preventing a biasing circuit from discharging at the start of energization, thereby allowing good sensitivity for detecting ionic current to be maintained. The combustion state detecting apparatus comprises an ionic current detecting circuit which includes a biasing circuit connected to the low voltage end of a secondary winding of an ignition coil and which detects ionic current flowing from the biasing circuit via a spark plug after the combustion of a fuel-air mixture. A current limiting circuit is provided between the low voltage end of the secondary winding and the biasing circuit. An electronic control unit detects the combustion state at the spark plug according to the ionic current. The biasing means circuit applies a bias voltage of the opposite polarity from high voltage for ignition to the spark plug via the low voltage end of the secondary winding; and the current limiting means controls the current flowing from the biasing means to the spark plug via the secondary winding, thus restraining the voltage at the high voltage end of the secondary winding when starting current supply to a primary winding.

    摘要: A combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal-combustion engine does not incur deteriorated ignition characteristics because the ionic current detecting circuit thereof is not affected by ignition current. The combustion state detecting apparatus is equipped with an ionic current detecting circuit (10A) which includes a biasing device (C) connected to the low voltage end of a secondary winding (2b) of an ignition coil (2) and which detects ionic current (i) flowing from the biasing device via a spark plug (4); rectifying device (5) which is inserted between the biasing device and the secondary winding so that the ionic current flows in the forward direction; a voltage clamping device (6) inserted between the secondary winding and the ground; and an ECU (20) which detects the combustion state according to the ionic current. The biasing device applies a bias voltage (VBi) of the opposite polarity from the high voltage for ignition to the spark; and the voltage clamping device limits a voltage (Vc) at the low voltage end of the secondary winding to a predetermined value when the high voltage for ignition appears, the absolute value of the predetermined value being set to the absolute value or more of the bias voltage.
