    摘要: An electric discharge machine controls temperature fluctuations of machining fluid discharged by a discharge pump so as to improve machining accuracy, and a machining fluid cooling device keeps the temperature of the discharged machining fluid constant regardless of the operating state of the discharge pump. The electric discharge machine pumps machining fluid in a temperature controlled clean fluid tank with a discharge pump and discharges the machining fluid to a machining area through piping, and has a machining fluid cooling device for cooling machining fluid discharged from the discharge pump. The machining fluid cooling device passes a portion of the piping through the clean fluid tank and exchanges heat between the machining fluid inside the piping and the clean fluid in the clean fluid tank, thus dispersing the heat added from the discharge pump to the clean fluid side and lowering the temperature of the machining fluid inside the piping.

    摘要: A wire drive apparatus in a wire-cut electric discharge machine, which is capable of effecting wire extension smoothly even by a single drive source, and of preventing wear of belts and variation in wire feed speed. Upon wire extension, a lower belt section (3) pivotally supported through links (33, 34, 36, L) is moved toward an upper belt section (2) with actuation of air cylinders (10, 12), so that belts (21, 31) of these belt sections are brought in urged contact with each other, and a wire is delivered for the wire extension by the belts which are rotated, a wire drive roller (4). After completion of the wire extension, the lower belt section is moved to a position at which it is separated from the wire, and at this time the upper belt section is also separated from the wire, and power transmission from the wire drive roller to the lower belt section is disconnected.

    摘要: A wire feed apparatus for a wire cut electric discharge machining apparatus, capable of moving a wire conveyor belt from an automatic wire extension position to a non-wire-transfer shunt position at the time of electric discharge machining, thereby preventing wear of the belts and reducing variation in the wire feed speed. The apparatus includes first and second conveyor belts selectively operated in accordance with predetermined conditions for wire feeding. At the time of automatic wire extension, an air cylinder of a wire feed mechanism is driven to move the second conveyor belt from a non-wire-transfer shunt position to the automatic wire extension position using a parallel link mechanism. The second conveyor belt is pressed against the first conveyor belt at the automatic wire extension position. When both these belts rotate as a motor is driven, a wire electrode held between the belts is transported from an upstream side of a wire transfer path to a downstream side thereof, whereupon the automatic wire extension is finished. When the air cylinder is de-energized, the second conveyor belt is restored to the non-wire-transfer shunt position and separated from the first conveyor belt by means of the urging force of a spring. Accordingly, the wire electrode and the two belts are out of contact with one another during the electric discharge machining operation, thus preventing wear of the belts and variation in wire feed speed.
