摘要: A wafer processing method for dividing a wafer into individual devices along a plurality of crossing streets formed on the front side of the wafer, the individual devices being respectively formed in a plurality of regions partitioned by the streets. The wafer processing method includes the steps of attaching the front side of the wafer to a dicing tape supported to an annular dicing frame, grinding the back side of the wafer to reduce the thickness of the wafer to a predetermined thickness, forming a break start point along each street from the back side of the wafer, applying an external force to the wafer to break the wafer along each street where the break start point is formed, thereby dividing the wafer into the individual devices, attaching the back side of the wafer to a front side of an adhesive tape supported to an annular frame and next removing the adhesive tape from the front side of the adhesive tape, and peeling off and picking up each device from the adhesive tape.

摘要: In a method for transcripting fine patterns and an apparatus for transcripting fine patterns, the ingress of bubbles is prevented and patterns are transcripted with a high throughput by a relatively compact apparatus. For this purpose, a back surface of a stamper is vacuum sucked and the stamper is brought into close contact with a target of transcription with its surfaces coated with resist and pressure is applied thereto. At this time, the stamper is deformed into a spherical shape or bent to expand the close contact face from a central area to a peripheral area to prevent the ingress of air bubbles into between the target of transcription and the stamper.

摘要: When activated, an actuator causes a piston rod in a cylinder to move forwards so as to support a receiving member for receiving an object to be protected. A lock mechanism for restricting a backward movement of the piston rod includes a lock ring which is accommodated in an accommodating groove on a piston portion and a locking stepped portion on the cylinder side. The locking stepped portion includes a locking and restricting surface and an outer circumferential restricting surface. A taper restricting surface in the accommodating groove on the piston portion is brought into abutment with an inner surface on a forward moving side of the lock ring which is being diametrically expanded as a result of the piston rod having moved forwards and is in abutment with the locking and restricting surface and the outer circumferential restricting surface of the locking stepped portion, whereby the backward movement of the piston rod is restricted by making use of the lock ring which is restricted in the locking stepped portion.

摘要: A pedestrian protection system is mounted in the front portion of a vehicle, and includes a controller, a forward movement holding mechanism controlled in actuation by the controller, and a contact body that a pedestrian can contact. The controller, when having predicted a collision of a pedestrian with the vehicle based on a signal from a collision predicting sensor, actuates the forward movement holding mechanism to cause a forward movement of the contact body, and based on a signal from a turn sensor when the forward movement holding mechanism carries out an upward rotation or a downward rotation at the time of contact of the forwardly moved contact body with a pedestrian, controls actuation of the restraint body so as to correspond to a pedestrian moving to a front upper side of the vehicle and a pedestrian moving to a front lower side of the vehicle, respectively.

摘要: In an image forming apparatus having a document feeder for taking up a document from a document bundle placed on a document tray, a controller has a normal mode to perform a normal-size conveyance control by taking up each document from a bundle of documents having the same size, a multi-size mode to perform a multi-size conveyance control by taking up each document from a bundle of documents having various sizes. When the normal mode is carried out, the controller controls to stop the document after the first preset time passes after the trailing edge of the document has been detected, and when multi-size mode is carried out, the controller controls in place of using the first preset time by the second preset time which is set to be a longer time than the first preset time.

摘要: When a master medium and a slave medium are brought into close contact and a transfer magnetic field is applied thereto to perform magnetic transfer, the leakage magnetic field intensity of the transfer magnetic field is regulated to within a permissible range, making possible the transfer of an exact magnetic pattern. After a magnetic field is applied to the slave face in the track direction thereof to initially magnetize the slave medium in the track direction, the master medium and the slave medium are brought into close contact. When applying a transfer magnetic field in the track direction of the slave face to perform a magnetic transfer, the magnetic field intensity component in the direction opposite that in which the transfer magnetic field is to be applied is regulated to less than or equal to ½ the magnetic coercive force Hcs of the slave medium over the entire slave surface.
