    摘要: A magnetic recording medium having a high reliability of durability against frictional motion can be ensured even in a severe rubbing test, while a low noise characteristic important for achievement of high-density recording is kept. A first underlayer made of an alloy containing Co or Ni as a main component and containing Cr and Zr simultaneously is formed over a base, a second underlayer having a rough surface is formed on the first underlayer, a third underlayer made of an alloy containing Ni as a main component and containing Cr and Zr simultaneously is formed over the second underlayer, a fourth underlayer as a film for controlling crystalline orientation is formed on the third underlayer, a magnetic layer made of an alloy containing cobalt a main component is formed over the fourth underlayer, and a protective film containing carbon as a main component is formed on the magnetic layer.

    摘要: In a magnetic recording medium having Co-based alloy magnetic layer containing Pt formed on a substrate through an underlayer, by forming said underlayer with plural underlayers including double layer structure which is formed by piling up 1st underlayer of Cr-based alloy containing Ti and 2nd underlayer of Cr-based alloy containing at least one element selected from a group comprising Mo and W in this sequence, crystal grain diameter is decreased and then medium noise can be decreased, and c axis is oriented to in-plane direction and then high coercivity can be obtained, consequently the magnetic recording medium having high signal to noise ratio at high recording density region is obtained. Further a small size large capacity magnetic recording system can be provided by combination of said magnetic recording media with a MR (magnetoresistive) head.

    摘要: Provided is an Mg alloy and a method for producing same able to demonstrate high strength without requiring an expensive rare earth element (RE). The high-strength Mg alloy containing Ca and Zn within a solid solubility limit and the remainder having a chemical composition comprising Mg and unavoidable impurities is characterized in comprising equiaxial crystal particles, there being a segregated area of Ca and Zn along the (c) axis of a Mg hexagonal lattice within the crystal particle, and having a structure in which the segregated area is lined up by Mg3 atomic spacing in the (a) axis of the Mg hexagonal lattice. The method for producing the high-strength Mg alloy is characterized in that Ca and Zn are added to Mg in a compounding amount corresponding to the above composition and, after homogenization heat treating an ingot formed by dissolution and casting, the above structure is formed by subjecting the ingot to hot processing.
