There is provided a process for producing W-type ferrite having high magnetic properties by reducing compacting defects during wet compacting. Specifically, there is a provided a process for producing a ferrite sintered body having a main composition of the following formula (1): AFe2+aFe3+bO27 . . . (1) wherein 1.5≦a≦2.1, 14≦a+b≦18.5, and A is at least one element selected from Sr, Ba and Pb, the process comprising:a calcining step of obtaining a calcined body from a raw material compound; a first milling step of milling the calcined body to a predetermined size; a heat treatment step of holding fine powder obtained from the first milling step for a predetermined time in a predetermined temperature range in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 10% by volume or less; a second milling step of milling the fine powder which has undergone the heat treatment step to a predetermined size; a step of wet compacting the fine powder which has undergone the second milling step in a magnetic field; and a sintering step of sintering the compacted body obtained by the wet compacting.

The present invention provides a ferrite magnetic material comprising as a main constituent a compound represented by a composition formula, AFe2+aFe3+bO27 (wherein 1.1≦a≦2.4, 12.3≦b≦16.1; and A comprises at least one element selected from Sr, Ba and Pb), and also comprising as additives a Ca constituent in terms of CaCO3 and a Si constituent in terms of SiO2 so as to satisfy the relation CaCO3/SiO2=0.5 to 1.38 (molar ratio). By making the relation CaCO3/SiO2=0.5 to 1.38 (molar ratio) be satisfied, the coercive force (HcJ) and the residual magnetic flux density (Br) can be made to simultaneously attain high levels.

There is provided a sintered body at least 80% of which is constituted of a Y-type hexagonal ferrite. The sintered body contains, as main components, a cobalt oxide, a copper oxide, an iron oxide and AO (AO is at least one of BaO or SrO) in predetermined amounts in mol %, more preferably contains MO (MO is at least one of NiO, ZnO or MgO) in a predetermined amount in mol % in addition to the above components, and also contains, as additional components, bismuth oxide (Bi2O3), borosilicate glass, borosilicate zinc glass or bismuth glass in predetermined amounts in wt %. Thus, a sintered body which exhibits good magnetic properties and is usable up to a high frequency band ranging from several hundred megahertz to gigahertz, contains as few hetero phases other than a Y-type hexagonal ferrite as possible and can be calcined at a temperature of not higher than 1,000° C., particularly about 900° C., and a high-frequency circuit component using the sintered body can be provided.

The object of this invention is to produce a monitor which can correctly distinguish normal from abnormal vibration using automatically selected monitoring features and algorithms. The monitor can be used with a variety of devices with different vibration characteristics. The monitor according to this invention has a sensor that detects the vibration of an object. The monitor is operated in learning mode when the object is vibrating normally. The waveform of the vibration detected by this sensor is sampled over an appropriate period and analyzed. The data for each sampling feature are subjected to statistical processing, and the data which evince slight change are extracted as monitoring features. A monitoring algorithm is automatically made for these monitoring features. The algorithm selected in learning mode are used to evaluate the vibration of an object when the monitor is in operating mode. The operator does not need to set up the algorithm, and can monitor the object with a more reliable algorithm than the conventional one selected by fixed monitoring features.

Alternately in the nonmagnetic Zr-ferrite comprising iron oxide and zinc oxide as main components, a given amount of at lease one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of manganese oxide, nickel oxide and magnesium oxide is contained. It is thus possible to provide a nonmagnetic Zn-ferrite that can have high resistivity without containing Cu.
