摘要： A linear actuator using a screw mechanism is provided which can be made free from play and can operate in a smooth fashion without involving any unacceptably rigorous tolerance control. An external thread of a screw rod is in threading engagement with an internal thread of a nut member for converting a rotational movement of the nut member into a linear movement of the screw rod, and a localized region of relatively tight fit is provided in the threading engagement. In particular, when the nut member is made of a molded plastic member, the localized region of relatively tight fit can be easily formed by grinding or cutting a part of the molding core for molding the internal thread of the nut member.

摘要： A liquid propellant tank for storing a liquid propellant A and supplying vapor produced by evaporation of part of the liquid propellant A to an external location comprises a tank body for storing the liquid propellant A, and a plurality of holder plates arranged inside the tank body, around an axis L of the tank body. The holder plates cause the liquid propellant A to adhere to them by surface tension, thereby establishing, inside the tank body, a liquid propellant holding area LA in which the liquid propellant A is held and a gas accumulation area GA in which vapor produced by evaporation of part of the liquid propellant A accumulates. The tank body has a propellant inlet open into the liquid propellant holding area LA and a gas outlet open into the gas accumulation area GA.

摘要： The grasping apparatus includes a grasping portion for grasping a workpiece. This grasping portion has i) pawl portions having squeezing portions that squeeze the workpiece, and ii) contact portions, each of which has an inner bag made of elastic material, and a granular substance that is filled in the inner bag. The contact portions are attached to portions of the squeezing portions that contact the workpiece, and harden the granular substance while keeping it in an appropriate shape by increasing a volume ratio of the granular substance to an inner volume of the inner bags. Retaining portions that have concavo-convex shapes are formed on the attaching surfaces that are portions of the squeezing portions that the contact portions attach to.

摘要： In a laser beam machine tool, the problems of power losses, misalignment, high cost, and other problems associated with moving laser heads are eliminated by using a five-axis table in which a biaxial work holder, capable of rotating and tilting a workpiece is mounted on a three-axis table mechanism. In the three-axis table mechanism, an X-axis table is supported on linear motion bearings in overlapping relationship on a Y-axis table, which is, in turn, supported on linear motion bearings on a vertically movable Z-axis table, which is also supported in linear motion bearings. The X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis tables are driven by servo motors through ball screws so that backlash is avoided.

摘要： A coin receiving apparatus for a vending machine capable of accurately checking a coin diameter as well as other coin characteristics such as material and a surface pattern for discriminating a true coin from a false one and receiving the former and rejecting the latter. The diameter and other coin characteristics are detected by examining peak values of output waveshapes of coin detectors by means of a window circuit. A single window circuit is provided for each denomination and upper and lower limit values of the window circuit are automatically changed in accordance with a coin characteristic under examination. Frequencies of excitation signals of the various coin detectors are also automatically changed. If a plurality of coins are successively inserted in the coin receiving apparatus without a sufficient time interval, discrimination of the inserted coins is inhibited and the inserted coins are returned.
