摘要： A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; a switching element disposed on the first substrate; a pixel electrode connected to the switching element and supplied with a data voltage; an opposing electrode disposed on the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and including liquid crystal molecules. The pixel electrode includes a cutout and a liquid crystal direction controller that are alternately disposed. The cutout and the liquid crystal direction controller divide the pixel electrode into a plurality of sub-regions, and inclination directions of the liquid crystal molecules are different according to the plurality of sub-regions when the pixel electrode is supplied with the data voltage. The liquid crystal direction controller is concave downward or convex upward with respect to a surface of the first substrate.

摘要： A display substrate includes a switching element and a pixel electrode. The pixel electrode is electrically connected to the switching element. The pixel electrode includes a plurality of slit electrodes that are conductive elements respectively disposed in a plurality of domains oriented substantially parallel to each other and extending substantially in a first direction. The slit electrodes each extend in a direction different from the first direction. Each slit electrode is an elongated structure having first and second long sides, and first and second short sides positioned opposite to each other and each extending between the first and second long sides, where the first long side oriented at an angle with respect to the first direction that is different from that of the second long side. Thus, a plurality of domains is formed, so that generation of texture may be decreased and compensating efficiency may be enhanced.

摘要： A display substrate includes a base substrate, a switching element and a pixel electrode. The switching element is formed on the base substrate. The pixel electrode is electrically connected to the switching element. The pixel electrode includes a plurality of slit electrodes respectively disposed on a plurality of domains in parallel defined in a first direction. The slit electrodes are extended in a direction different from the first direction. A slope of a first long side of the slit electrodes is different from that of a second long side opposite to the first end side of the slit electrode. Thus, a plurality of domains is formed on one line, so that a direction of liquid crystal molecules is controlled and a generation of texture may be decreased at a boundary between domains. As a result, compensating efficiency is enhanced.

A first sensor drain electrode is extended from the second sensor line at the sensor active pattern. A second sensor drain electrode corresponding to the first sensor gate electrode is formed on the sensor active pattern. A pixel electrode is electrically connected to the gate line and the data line. A sensor electrode part electrically connects the first and second sensor drain electrodes spaced apart from the pixel electrode. Light is reflected by the first and second sensor drain electrodes, which have an embossed shape.

摘要： A display device includes a lower polarizing plate, an array substrate, an opposite substrate, a liquid crystal layer and an upper polarizing plate. The array substrate includes a pixel electrode and a lower alignment layer. The pixel electrode has a planar-type electrode portion and a plurality of branch electrode portions extended from the planar-type electrode portion in a first direction, which is formed at about 45 degrees with respect to a first polarization axis. The lower alignment layer is formed on the pixel electrode to be aligned in the first direction. The opposite substrate includes a planar-type common electrode facing the pixel electrode and an upper alignment layer. The upper alignment layer is formed on the common electrode to be aligned in an opposite direction of the first direction.
