摘要： A coupler which is for tubing and which has a tube receiving bore therein. A sealing ring, spacer ring and lock ring are coaxially located within the coupler bore. When a tube is inserted into the coupler bore, the sealing ring makes contact between the coupler and tube with the spacer and locking ring cooperating to cause the locking ring when the tube is pressurized to firmly engage the tube, thus preventing the tube from being withdrawn from the coupler.

摘要： A heat sump system for building structures in which side walls for a space for fill material, preferably of a granular nature such as sand, and a thermal insulating material is disposed between the fill material and the earth to prevent the escape of heat generated in the fill material normally generated by an electrical heating cable. An insulating material may be disposed around the periphery of the fill material along the side walls around the building foundation. The insulating material is also preferably impervious to moisture to prevent the transfer of moisture from the earth and the side walls to the fill material. While the electrical heating cable, which may be disposed throughout a major portion of the fill material on a horizontal plane, is preferably embedded in the fill material, it may be disposed between the fill material and a concrete slab disposed thereon, or disposed in the concrete slab.

摘要： A drain assembly for a lavatory basin which includes a drain tube having a flanged upper end adapted for support by the basin. A drain plug is carried within the drain tube. A lift rod extends through the drain tube at a side opening therein and engages the plug. The lift rod is held in a sealed relationship against the tube by a retainer clamp which permits the lift rod to be shifted causing the drain plug to be correspondingly shifted between open and closed positions.

摘要： An electrical heating system for building structures in which side walls form a space for fill material supporting a slab floor and containing an electrical heating cable, the fill material functioning as a heat sump for absorbing heat while the heating cable is in operation and releasing it over a period of time whether the cable is operating or not. A moisture regulator is included in the system consisting of one or more distribution units connected to a source of water and a probe sensing the amount of moisture for registering on a gauge or for operating a valve in the line for maintaining the desired amount of moisture in the fill material. The fill material may be divided by a plurality of vertical walls into compartments, and a water distributing unit and a moisture sensor probe are disposed in each of the compartments for controlling the moisture in each compartment. A thermal and moisture insulating material is preferably disposed between the fill material and the earth to prevent escape downwardly of the heat generated in the fill material and to assist in controlling the moisture content of the fill material.

摘要： A method of fabricating heating structures in which a heating wire having a thermoplastic outer layer is arranged in a predetermined pattern and one or more strands of thermoplastic material are applied to the individual sections and bonded thereto. The area near the bond is heated to a temperature sufficient to fuse the surfaces of the wire and strand or strands and, after the wire and strands have cooled, the strands adhere to the sections, thus forming an integrated heating structure from the separate heating wire sections and thermoplastic strands. The sections may be parallel to one another and the strands applied thereto in substantially right angle relationship, and when a number of strands are applied to the wire sections, they normally are applied simultaneously and in parallel relation.

摘要： A heat loss control system for a building having a sump of fill material which is heated by an electric heating cable, and a floor disposed on the fill material. A layer of porous material such as coarse sand having air spaces therein is disposed between the fill material and the earth, and a system of perforated tubes or the like is disposed in said layer, and water in the layer is removed by a pump attached to the perforated tubes. As the water is removed from the layer, air fills the porous material and forms an effective insulation to prevent the heat in the fill material from being dissipated into the earth beneath the sump. The heating cable may be disposed in the fill material or in the floor supported by the fill material. Probes are preferably inserted in the layer and connected either to a guage or to the motor for the pump, so that the pump will be operated when it is necessary to remove the moisture and improve the insulating characteristics of the layer.

摘要： A flexible heating cable having a cold lead section and a heating section, in which a thermostat is disposed in the cold wires of the cold lead section and a light and a switch are disposed in a flexible translucent plastic pouch remotely located from the two sections and are connected to the wires adjacent the thermostat so that the unit can be tested at a position remote from the heating cable installation.
